Almost certainly.. err... absolutely. But after looking at WGN America's programing, it is already on my "why bother" list along with most of the other channels with HD in their logo that Dish added since SciFi HD and USA HD

Seriously folks, from here on in it is all about adding channels with HD in their logo for the lowest possible price -- quantity not quality -- and heaven forbid not abut HD content (can you say WFN HD?).

Why change a thread about WGN HD into yet another Voom thread?

I've concluded that the I-miss-Voom'ers are even more repetitive than the VOOM channels were.

That's funny considering all the whiners for SciFi were worried about a one hour a week show with about a dozen episodes a year. WGN just carrying Cubs and Sox four or five times a week already probably has SciFi's HD output beat. Especially the way things are going this year, there's probably more interest in those games among the general population than in BSG or whatever. USA HD is a good channel, but I don't want to hear anything about SciFi.

Agreed. The stuff I watched on USA was pretty good. ie: Indiana Jones , etc. But SciFi is thus far pretty crappy. The other day the guide showed they were showing a number of Star Trek TNG episodes. I tuned to them and saw SD in a 4:3 format. Unwatchable.
Star Trek Enterprise that you can watch elsewhere in beautiful wide screen HD is also unwatchable on SciFi.

Maybe SciFi will get better someday.

FWIW I'm not picking on WGN HD. ALL sports voyeur programing/channels (whether or not they are HD) are on my "who cares" list

The other day the guide showed they were showing a number of Star Trek TNG episodes. I tuned to them and saw SD in a 4:3 format. Unwatchable.

4:3 is the OAR , TNG is not available in HD and may never be due to the work required. Stargate Atlantis is in HD but I have yet to see any SG-1 episodes in HD

It remains to be seen whether TNG gets converted to HD. TOS had been converted to HD (I’ve seen some of it) and it looks fabulous and it was no doubt a costly venture. TNG would probably be more costly due to the greater number of episodes but they would probably do a season at a time to mitigate some cost and would do the next season depending on how well sales were going. If there’s money to be made, the TNG conversion will happen.

what is wrong with WFN HD it no different than any other channel devoted to a particular sports such as the speed channel i personally do not care to watch cars go around and around in a circle but there is a lot of folks who do that's why we have some many programming choices if you do not like do not watch it I live in the south and there are alot of people in this area that love both fishing and nascar. Just because you personally think WFN is a waste does not give you the right to demand it be taken down there are several channels i think personally to me are useless but i don not think the should be removed i just do not watch them as I know there are people who enjoy them you have a right to express your opion but remeber that if you do not like a particular channel turn it no one is forcing you to watch it and WFN is going to show HD content later this year and out of all the 22 channels added recently none of tem are true HD yet meaning 24/7 HD content they will get there but it takes time so just be patient as it will get there.

I agree. Nothing wrong with WFN. I put a big chaw in and sit back at watch them reel the big ones in. It might actually motivate me to get my big fat arse out and catch some doggers. If nothing is on WFN I can watch my Cubbies on WGN. If now Charlie only adds Speedhd I'll be in heaven. With these three channels I'll probably end up dropping my locals which in turn will save me money. Thanks Charlie :up
