C.C. just whacked one out of Dodger Stadium and it is rumored to have come down in South Pasadena!!!! His stock as an NL pitcher has just risen IMMENSELY.

Kiss him good-bye, Cleveland!:yes

I want proof.

Are you saying you doubt me, sir? Why would I make such an event up? The shot went a reported 476 feet according to FOX. Tune in to any sports report this evening an it will be shown, I'm sure.

I have to say I am a bit offended that you would think I'd be posting spam.

I didn't say I doubt you.

It's just that I haven't been able to check out any updates on the TV.

Where I live, I am watching Cardinals/Red Sox, not Indians/Dodgers.

EDIT: Checked the Yahoo Sports boxscore and flipped to ESPNews.

Sorry.

Now I believe you guys.

Sabathia has always been a good hitter when given the chance. He's a career .300 hitter. I say, let him hit DH on his non-pitching days! ;)

Anyways, what made the tape-measure homer even more amazing, was that Sabathia didn't even take any practice swings before his at-bat! Instead, he was searching for his batting helmet which he misplaced in the dugout!

A massive Home Run, 10 strikeouts and a win for the Tribe. Not a bad day at the office.

BTW, I'd imagine the Zambrano-less Cubs are salivating at the opportunity to make an offer for Sabathia. As others mentioned, his offensive upside would be a perfect fit for any NL team.

.300 hitter, hardly ...
If he hit on a regular basis I doubt that he would be a .300 hitter.

A .300 avg as a pitcher is very deceiving seeing they only hit once a week in the NL and maybe once a year in the AL.

Which makes having a .300 average even more impressive to me. You have one bad day or two and it is really hard to get it back up there.

Especially since he's had quite a few at bats. He isn't a rookie or anything. Sabathia has been hitting (in interleague games) for 7 years now. He's had a total of 40 at-bats and has 12 hits, 7 RBI and 2 HR. Not bad.

I wasn't aware of the numbers, they are very good, but your not trying to tell me that he would be able to hit .300 for an entire year playing everyday, are you ?

Keep in mind that MOST pitchers don't throw the same when facing the pitcher as they do when facing the regulars, unless they get into a bind and need to.

As a Mets fan, I wouldn't mind getting Sabathia. Santana is having a slow start, Maine is good, Perez goes up and down, Pelfrey is ok and Martinez, as of now, looks shot. By all means, I wish Sabathia comes and the Mets can unload some people.
