Ok, I live in the area where I get the Braves Peachtree channel. Why is there no HD version or am I just missing it? I mean the SD is horrible! Plus, isn't there also SportSouth HD and FSN South HD? Why can't the Braves be on these channels more?.......How many Braves channels do we really need? What does Peachtree show besides games? I think MASN SD is better......Anyone else know? Thanks!

Yes. That channel does exist but not on Direct. I am not sure if any provider does carry it.

This was the last word we got from DirecTV back in late April:

An update on this. HD is on in the Atlanta DMA on Peachtree but not yet in the territory outside of that. Still working on it, but no news no that front.

The Braves have 45 games on WPCH (Peachtree TV)

that is up to the Braves as to how many different TV providers they want. Hey Toronto is the same way..they have games scattered across Rogers Sportsnet, TSN (The Sports Network) and the CBC

What does Peachtree show besides games?

older sitcoms and movies. I like watching Sanford & Son on there :)
WPCH was the old WTBS (the local Atlanta version) which was like TBS that is on cable/dish/direct. But they "broke off" WTBS and renamed it WPH and went a different direction on it

According to the promos they play at least once each game, they show Peachtree TV as being on Channel 17 for DirecTV. Not sure if this simulcasts HD and SD, but the promo would indicate that it does. It is not just in the 600's with all the other sports channels. Please post back if this not correct info...just going off what Joe and Boog read off their script each night. :)

Thanks for the reply guys. I was just wondering who was seeing these games in HD and thought that since I was in the RSN area I would se them also in HD. I guess maybe when D11 goes live. But I guess the season will be close to over then. Does D11 have plans for more RSN's? What HD RSN's are left?

Channel 17 is the WPCH channel that is local to the Atlanta DMA, and is HD.

They provide it in SD to the entire Braves region, and MLB EI.

The only issue I have is that I live in Greensboro, NC. It is about 5 1/2 hours from Atlanta so no go on Ch. 17....I do not have MLB EI, just NFL ST.....I do wonder if I would get extra games with the Sports Pack. I have heard that some people get other games when they add it. like a mini MLB EI. I know with Dish I use to get Detroit Tigers and Cincinnati Red games.....what do you gus know about the extra RSN's?

Peachtree tv HD is available here in Birmingham Alabama. It is on Charter cable.I have watched a few games on there but the picture is not really that good.Charter has been having trouble with video and audio.I watched a whole game one day and there wasnt any sound at all.

Must be a Charter problem. It looks great over D* and Comcast here in Atlanta (there have been occasional blips, but IMO they definitely have a better picture than FSN South/SportSouth).

This link will tell you if you are eligible for any additional teams when you purchase additional RSNs via sports pack, premier, or plus package (it seperates by package). Put in your zip code.

I ocassionally watch Peach TV OTA. The only thing I've ever since in HD are the Braves games. They have good movie lineup but all in SD. What do you expect from a Time Warner property.

Thanks for the help. Also, Jason, what percent of a chance would you say D* will add ESPNU HD? 90% chance or 100%? I have heard that you should order the sports pack in the fall if you are a huge college football fan! I know you can get alot of extra games that way. will those games be in HD? If they add ESPNU HD, that will be icing on the cake. thanks for the info!

Right now the only HD college football you'd get from the sports pack would be an FSN game that's preempted on your local RSN. ESPNU should have an HD feed active by football season, and while CBS College Sports HD exists right now it has zero HD content, and I haven't seen a reputable story that indicates how much HD they're planning on doing this fall. If they can do some with CBS's normal quality, it should be pretty awesome though :) Beyond that, I don't think The Mtn has HD plans yet, and none of the other RSNs are doing any HD college sports that I'm aware of... Raycom's SEC broadcasts should be in HD but I haven't seen any information on whether or not the Gameplan package will offer HD feeds.

Given history and DirecTV's sports focus, I'd say 90%.

The only hardship may be if ESPN wants it moved to a normal tier instead of the sports tier. Not sure how well Directv would receive that (but I'd like it though)

Thats cool. thanks. ok, I thought ESPN decided where the U(not miami) was to be put. I think it is in higher tiers across the board with providers?

Either something id wrong here or I am crazy.
I get the digital feeds of peachtree tv and Mytv here in Atlanta (Directv). Have had them for a few months now, and I have seen braves games in HD on peachtreedtv 17.

Yes, D* has WPCH in HD in the Atlanta DMA.

For the remainder of the Braves region, and the Extra Innings viewers, it is only available in SD at this point.

That may change in the future, or possibly next year, but for now - that's the word.

Peachtree TV in HD

If you live in the Atlanta Area you can get HD over the air . I live in Lilburn and it comes in great on an inside antenna
