722 TV2 (SD) need coaxial to RCA

Hello, the coaxial input on my TV (SD television) doesn't work. I need to input through the RCA jacks but can't seem to get it to work. I've tried plugging the coaxial through the VCR and then RCA to TV but it wont work. I don't know much about coaxial specs so I'm curious if my VCR just wont recognize this coaxial. I have to put my TV on channel 60 in order to recognize the signal (according to Dish). Tried putting the VCR on channel 60 then putting the TV on the video input, channel 3, 4 and 60. Nothing...

Anyone have any ideas how I can get this to work?

You can go to worst buy, radio slack, where ever and get RCA connectors.. The cable you have is ok to use for RCA jacks. Only problem is you will need three from the Recvr to the tv 2 location. Or just get your tv fixed or buy a new tv.. Some times using the vcr first through the tv is a hassle. I put the vcr on 60 or 73 then the tv on ch 3, but you need to make sure your vcr is on air or cable.

On your 722 you can go to menu press 6-1-5 You can change between cable and air. Most VCRS are on cable.

First things first. Get yourself a VHS tape and try to get that to successfully play out to your TV set. You'll need to tune the TV set itself to whatever video input you are connected to. This is usually called video 1, video 2, L1 or L2, or sometimes just labeled AV IN. Once you get your VHS tape to successfully play, then you can tackle getting satellite in to the VCR.

If this room is a TV 2 room for your satellite system, then you'll need to put your VCR on the correct channel. Go to the receiver itself and press menu 6,1,5 to find out what channel you are set up on and also what band, either cable or antenna band. Then put the VCR on that channel. If it doesn't come through, check and make sure your VCR is either tuned to cable or VHF/UHF depending on what the satellite box says it is adjusted to.

Thanks for the info. I changed the receiver to cable for TV2 and turned the VCR to channel 73 and it worked.
