Today I got a automated call from Dish saying a minute long boring message about smartcards. Apparently my new smartcard will be there within 10 days and I was given instructions why and how I needed to change the smartcard. My 722 was one of the last batches before the purple cards were used so they must be down to the last customers that need new cards.

Anyone else get a call today about smartcards?

I havent received mine in the mail yet either. I would be surprised if it really was here in 10 days.

I got the cards last week for my 2 622's. Opened the panel to put them in, and to my surprise, there were NO card in either one. I did not know that this was possible.

to my knowledge non of the VIPs have smart cards because the current smart card is built in. The newest 722 (think it has a k with a circle around it) already have the new smart card built in so they wont need an upgrade.

So I still don't have my new smartcards even though they called days ago. Now I'm getting an annoying popup on my TV stating that my smartcard is about to expire.

Got my new smart cards & installed them yesterday. Tried to use my 1000.4 sat dish that I bought months ago. One 722 receiver worked just fine with the eastern arc and the other 722 in my living room just wouldn't load the guide . So back to the western arc I went. OF course my side sat dish for 61.5 crapped out and I had to reinstall it with new coax from Radio Shack. Spent all day trying to get my 61.5 hd back. The one thing I noticed on eastern arc, Fx looked much much better in mpeg 4 than on mpeg2 on western arc. Everything sd looked better for the few hours I watched it. I couldn't get any guide data for ota stations or for the 110 sat dish I plugged in to the eastern arc dish . No Houston locals either. I don't know if you can load 9 day guide for the 110 locals off of 110 or if it has to come off of 119. So I was disappointed. Maybe once I trade these receivers in for the new 722ks that I want , I can try again.
