Not sure if I even remember how to create a poll but I'll try.

I'd be interested to know how many think Dish fell short of their expectations the last quarter of 2008 considering what they had been hinting and implying would happen regarding national HD.

IMHO, anyone who's been around D* and E* for any period of time are used to disappointment. Par for the course. :D I wonder how many people would really prefer a lot of National HD over their locals in HD, if that's even relatable in terms of capacity.

Regardless of falling short of many HD channels, I think a lot of great advances have been made as well. EHD support, Eastern Arc (N/A to me though), DASH. Not sure how much came out in 2007, though. My concept of time is fuzzy sometimes.

I misread the poll about the last 3 months, but I'll stick with that it exceeded my expectations for new HD, since I was not expecting any.

I am one that would prefer more national HD over my HD locals. I get all the locals in my DMA OTA as well as several others in an adjoining DMA and use my media center PCs for recording and not the HD DVR. That's not to say the additional national HD that's out there to be added is any good. I'm looking forward to FX and that's about it.

I did not fall for the sucker bet of 150. There just are not that many possible channels for them to put up. I voted slightly short. I figured there would be 7-10 more channels in December. Dish is notoriously slow making deals with the channels.

I voted "about as much national HD as I expected". I'm not too excited about what is left out there to add right now either. The only one that I really want is ESPNUHD, but in all honesty I wouldn't really care if we didn't get that until right before next football season (but will be really pissed if we don't get it by then).

is certain to "win". The majority of people just can't be pleased.... Just watch when Dish does add a new HD channel, you'll have people complaining about the lack of actual HD programming or something (as if that's Dish's problem ... oh wait, they should have picked a "better" channel). Just can't win !

I expected the 150 channels that he promised in the HD Absolute package by years end. Years end has passed and I have 63 HD channels, including HBO, Starz, and CMax. If he takes away my HD Absolute Package or raises my package price too much, he can have the premiums back, I ain't paying any more than I am paying now, which is toooooo much for the channels that I get.

me too. that's why i voted for the last choice.

Well I'm in the "a tad bit disappointed" group. With the list Scott put up SPEED is my only wish. FX... ok, Some more Sho's... ok. The rest.... keep'm. The fun will come in February when we see where these place in the Turbo packages. You know the channel you want more then anything will be that next higher package. ;)

Interesting timing about a week before the satellite arrives at 129 and CES.

The horrible thought must have occurred that any day now, we could lose our reason for whining.

Well, let's see, if we give up on sleeping and eating, we might have about 200 hours of whining available, got to get it done !

sorry that won't happen.some people are never satisfied

far short . . . i knew 150 was an exaggeration, but to not get more hd in the last month was ridiculous . . . i expect april will be a good month before we see anything

April? I would say they are not nuts enough to raise people's bills with no new HD. However, I did get my sign a contract, get freebies e-mail from them. Perhaps they are that nuts.

I might have to call U-verse or DirectTV (also been slacking) next month.
