Hey all, in light of Spring Training beginning soon I have a quick question regarding the Cincinnati Reds market. I currently live in Erie PA, and am seeing the 129 West satellite, however for baseball season I was considering a "move" to Columbus Oh, which is also seen on the 129 satellite on transponder 21 I believe. Now my question is if I was to make this "move" would I be able to see all the Reds games? Is Columbus Oh considered to be the Cincinnati Reds market? And if I was able to see these games would they be available in HD?

Columbus market gets Fox Sports Cincinnati, Fox Sports Ohio and Sportstime Ohio(STO) so we get Reds, Indians, Cavaliers, and Blue Jackets professional sports coverage.

Thanks alot for that info. All the tech guys out there..would this "move" work from Erie PA? I dont see why it wouldnt considering I can see the 129 satellite and the corresponding transponders that go along with the Columbus Oh DMA.

You may want to wait a little longer before "moving" since Dish has a new satellite about to go into service at 129 (Ciel 2 is replacing Echo 5) and the locals currently on a conus beam will be going to spot beams. Depending on how tight the spot is, Erie may or may not be able to pick up Columbus in a couple of weeks. The RSN's will remain on conus beams.

I planned on waiting a bit, but honestly I get my locals in erie through OTA so the only real thing I want from the move is the RSN Fox Sports Cincinnati so I can watch the games on there..As long as those stay on Conus I should be ok right?

Yep, they should be on conus. I have not heard of any of them going to a spot beam. One in LA used to be on a spot but that was a couple years ago.

Awesome news...who needs MLB Extra Innings anyways? Ill just get my Reds the free way lol. And even if I dont get the Columbus locals I may still have my Erie ones even after the "move". I "moved" to cleveland a couple months ago to try it out and when I got the cleveland locals I still had my Erie ones somehow..so lets hope this stays the same for the columbus move
