Well I guess the HD gods are granting only me this channel tonight. I am watching it right now

My guess is, you're watching it in SD. Dish says that it absolutely is not on. And there's NO WAY to turn that channel on for just 1 sub. Unless you have a pirated rec. .

Without ever seeing the channel before, it is filling up the screen and the graphics are on the right hand side, it pretty much looks like cnbc HD.

I cant explain why this would be, but I can tell the difference between SD and HD, especially on a channel with enhanced graphics. I am not going to argue about it though.

I have read enought posts on these forums to know that you never take dishes word for what is or isnt there. The reps or tech support dont have a clue of what is turned on.

Are these new channels on the same TP as Versus HD? Man looks like lots of compression on the NHL game tonight St Louis/Detoilet.

Nope. Check TheList...sort by transponder. They are on their own transponder on 61.5 and 129.

Sounds like the CSR's are misinformed, as usual.

I guess we'll know what package FBN is on Wednesday when they turn the channels on "for real.'

I think someone at the uplink center was pushing some wrong buttons.

I have Direct so we have had this station for a long time. The HD version always has the graphic info bar on the right side and the SD version never does. So if you are seeing the graphic bar on the right, then it has to be the HD channel.

No, you wouldn't because it's not "on" until tomorrow. regardless of what the uplink report says. Remember, thats only tables, not actual streams.

The video is there. And it is available to some one out there. It's just in a different channel tier, so your receiver either hides it or shows it in red based on another flag.

I see 2 channels on 61.5, uhhhh 580 and 9902.

Did you recently upgrade or something? It looks like these channels are in a different channel tier. They are available out there to people with the correct tier.

Stop with the check switches. It's not going to do anything. And no, the CSR's probably do not know a thing about this channel. They usually do not until the next day. I haven't even seen a press release for this channel.
