Would that joy be tampered if your B.C. Eagles were not to get in?

No way. I really don't expect them to get in anyway.

BC's best chance was three years ago, when they had Craig Smith, Jared Dudley, Louis Hinnant, Sean Williams, Sean Marshall and Tyrese Rice was a dynamic freshman coming off the bench.

That Eagles team took Duke to the final buzzer in the ACC Championship Game, beat UNC twice (once in Chapel Hill and the other in the ACC Tourney) and lost to Villanova on a buzzer beater in the Sweet Sixteen.

BC's in great shape right now. Al Skinner's doing another nice coaching job up there.

Skinner is definitely an underrated coach. I think it's just a matter of time before a higher profile school comes a knockin'.

As far as BC's NCAA prospects go, the next eight days will go a long way towards that. They play at Wake tomorrow, host Clemson Tuesday night and host Duke next Sunday.

I've said it on here probably a dozen times and I'll keep saying it: THE FACT THAT ME-ME IS PUTTING UP RUTHIAN NUMBERS WITH THE DODGERS PROVES WHAT A F-R-A-U-D HE REALLY IS!!! HE QUIT on his team and pouted like a wuss until he got traded and his 2009 option was ripped up. That's YOUR definition of an MVP??? I don't care about the numbers, and HOPEFULLY neither will the voters!

I'm on record (on this site) saying THIS is what I wanted to happen. Thanks Me-Me, you came through after all, and proved to the world what a POS fraud you really are!

You left out pushing down an old man, using behind the Green Monster as his own personal toilet, slapping a teammate in the dugout, showing up his manager (who's been nothing but great to him), refusing to pinch hit in a crucial game, laughing about turning singles into triples, using his cell phone during a game, and generally disrespecting the game.

ACC is better than the Big Least. No it isn't, the Big East is better than the Absolutely Crappy Conference.......blah, blah, blah, blah, friggin' blah!! Who the freak cares!!! It's like going back and forth about who's better looking, Rosie O'Donnell or Roseanne Barr, it really is. My conference- that sucks- is better than your conference- that sucks. Way too much time spent on such a trivial arguement. Let the madness end!!!!

If the Tigers still have Ron LeFlore or Johnny Grubb around, I'll take them to play left. I'll take the guy that bags my groceries down at the supermarket. I'll send Manny to the Yankees in exchange for Billy Crystal.

Ah, memories.

20 bucks said he never left

dude,
seriously what have I ever done to you?

I'm just curious, because you seem to have a hair across your a** about me.

I come in here, mind my own business, post with RESPECT to others, but yet you seem to not like me. I don't get it???

You know what: your call. Your the "Proud Staff member". You want me gone? I'll leave.

pretty funny you go after me and all I said was "20 bucks he never left" which anyone can take as either you left or you didn't yet you don't go after vurbano who said "I knew he'd be back." which in my mind sounds worse

I dont have a hair across my ass for you or anyone. I just stated a comment. Gee I guess I need the "sports people's" approval to post here huh?
(oh and the "proud staff member" is a title that all mods/staff has. It can't be changed)

Look, seriously I'm not looking for trouble here. Okay, you're right, I was lurking here when I wasn't posting. But that's only because I made a lot of buddies on here that are very passionate about sports. Several have been after me for months to come back. Besides, it wasn't the "20 bucks he never left" comment that I took offense to. It was this icon  after that.

I apologize for the sarcastic comment about "proud staff member". That was out of line.

BTW, you were the first person to welcome me to this site back in April.
That's why I was surprised at some of your remarks after I left. I thought I had a good rapport with YOU.

And again, I'll leave for good, no hard feelings if you truly don't want "sports people" here. I may be wrong, but it seems like you insinuated that when you put quotations around sports people.

Just tell me if posting about sports is what you don't want here, and I will go.

BC's ...Al Skinner...
Trivia

In 1978, Al Skinner was one of four players to play for both teams in a single game. After a protest, a game played earlier in the year was replayed and Skinner, who started the game with the New Jersey Nets, ended the game as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers.

I can use that to stump my college buddies at lunch on Thursday.

Thanks!

Iceberg, please don't ruin this.

I was so upset when he left, and I don't want to experience deja vu.

he won't leave. Why would he? Because of one comment? big whoop. Its not like I attacked his team or called them sucky like some other members here do.

Cripes for every time I've been told to go f myself in a PM from a person stealing satellite (after I ban them) or to get a life (usually by those same people) I should be dead by now...but I'm still here :D

I guess I cant be sarcastic then huh? As I said you could have left or stayed around.

folks throw that at me (and staff) all the time so that dont bother me. I'm a member first, mod second. I only take off my FTA members hat and put on the mod hat when I need to.

you threw a title at me so I threw one back. Again I'm trying to figure out why you got all pissy at my comment and not vurbano's? Geez isnt he the reason you left originally because he posted a thread of the Jets in 1st place?

Once upon a time, there was almost a better one. In the late 1960s, the Red Sox had three successive games against the same team rained out. An agreement was reached whereby the teams would start playing a game at some unconscionable hour the next morning, and after it was completed, begin another game to be suspended at something like 2:00 PM, so that the teams could catch their flights to their next game sites. The suspended game would be concluded the next time the teams met.

The partial game had gone less than five innings when it was suspended. But before it was completed, the losing pitcher of record got traded from one team to the other. Under the scoring rules back then, if a starting pitcher left with the lead before five innings had been completed and if the lead was never surrendered, the winning pitcher would be the pitcher who had pitched the third out of the fifth inning, so all the leading team had to do was let that pitcher pitch to as few as one batter with two out in the fifth, and he would have been both the winner and the loser. Unfortunately, they chose not to do that. I once tried to figure out who the pitcher was by looking at some old rosters, but I wasn't able to indentify him. It was some 3rd starter type, like Dick Ellsworth, Ray Culp, Gary Bell or some other .500-type pitcher.
