FOX NEWS HD - Where are you?

why is it not included in turbohd package

So why would E not include fox news HD in the turbo hd gold platinum if this package is geared to all HD programing??? This is what's eating me.

Joe

I think it will be there eventually. I have Turbo HD Silver and have had Fox News HD since Day 1, for some reason. They clearly screwed up something, either technically or contractually with the rollout, and rather than coming clean, they've decided to pretend like this was the way it was supposed to be all along, until it gets sorted out.

Here's the latest word I received in an email response about why Dish added a new HD channel but refuses to give it to HD Turbo subscribers:

Hello John,

Thank you for your email. Dish Network has made the decision to place some new HD channels available into our Classic Gold 250 package and not our TurboHD package to see how popular the channel becomes. Once determined, dish Network will make a decision to either place the channels in our TurboHD package or leave it where it currently is. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

That just makes no friggin sense!

Nothing like jacking the price of Turbo packages and giving them nothing new in return to piss subscribers off even more. The worst part is that they know they can play this game and get away with it until D* starts competing and offering HD-only packages as well.

Yeah, that makes sense. They need to see how popular one of the highest rated cable channels available is!!!!

I can tell you that it is not popular in my house, because they have given me the sd preview, and I am just not interested in watching it in sd. I hope they aren't measuring my interest in it that way, because that would be a skewed result. I still don't understand why they would give me, an hd only subscriber, a stupid sd preview. Why would I want that?! Why would I pay for the package specifically to get hd only, and then have them try to convince me to watch an sd channel? Do they just want me to upgrade to a regular package with hd add-ons? That actually sounds about right...

It makes sence!
Dish isn't going to tell its turbo customers that Fox news isn't in its Turbo packs because Classic 250 Cost more per month and they can make more money off of this channel/package.:)
Thats what you do with Most popular channels, Put them in Higher pack ,and make more money.:(
Sure good for E* bad for us.

And a very good way to piss FOX off all over again!
Why would this Piss off Fox? Fox Doesn't Give a crap if E* doesn't have this in HD only packs. My guess thats not the Agreement. Classic 100 is the agreement. Last year Top 200 is What Fox News was in. Fox News was never in a HD only pack ,so why does it have to be now? Most popular package , Not least popular.

But doesn't fox get paid $X.XX per subscriber? So if they are offered in fewer packages, don't they then get fewer dollars?

If they're going to pull this crap, why did they come out with an HD only package in the first place? They're a bunch of friggin idiots.
They are HD only packs. Just so happends not every HD channel is in the HD only packs. Which I agree Turbo gold should have EVERY HD channel carried By E*. Turbo Bronze, Hey you get what you pay for !

Why? Because it doesn't give FOX full coverage in every package. That's why! You're obviously not a businessman or understand basic business principles, such as PRODUCT SATURATION! The whole argument behind FOX is that they wanted every sub to receive their channels in the lowest package available. This would include the lowest tier of HD only packages. That's common sense, think about it. With FOX, it's all about advertising revenue!
