There is no other way to behold the way Jericho was canceled and cut short in order to end it. Same goes for Arrested Development. These shows just feel wrong the way they were ended. Basically, they got notice from their networks to wrap it up short and did just that.
I am amazed at the number of otherise bright people who come up with the idiotic concept:
I want to create a series of one hour movies shown over several years. These will be difficult to understand, and thus will only appeal to a small audience. I want the decision about whether to continue to proceed with the series to be made by a group of people who are not intelligent enough to understand the program. The funding for the program will rely on it being watched by a greater number of people than can possibly understand it.

I'd put Dead Like Me and Pushing Daisies in that category, too. Too quirky to survive due to not enough quirky people.
RE, the topic: Psy-Phi would be marginally better, but Syfy? Puh-leeze. It's the dumbing down of what should be a "serious" channel. Oh, well. Good thing I can still read...

Stupid logo, Stupid name. but face it how much Science Fiction shows are out there? (Dr Who) You can only show so many re-runs of Stargate, StarTrek(s), Twilight zones.
BSG was on for 4 seasons, 1 big finale left then that's over, Caprica is scheduled for early 2010, they could bring back Babylon 5 re-runs or can they?, after Turner bought the rights to that!
SciFi channel is a part of NBC Universal, so of coure they are going to change some of the fromat.

Actually, the KFC thing was in response to the health backlash against fried foods. Which might make sense if they had added a bunch of grilled/roasted chicken items to the menu, but I think it's still almost all fried.
EDIT- It probably also had to do with going global...wanted to get rid of the "Kentucky"
I'm happy to say that in high school I served as head cook in my small hometown in Michigan in the town's only KFC (non-corporate owned branch). The pressure cookers you speak of are so dangerous. You have to properly vent them for 30 seconds to one minute but after while you get the feel for when you can pop them up early in what you think is a safe manner. In hindsight, I cannot believe that they even let teenagers do such dangerous work. One wrong move and I could have been killed. I was never severely burned but I got my share of small grease burns and knew of other people that were mutilated. I'll bet they don't let kids do that kind of work anymore.
Anyway, I say I am happy to say I served as head cook because I worked there for four long years in high school, getting more and more hours the older I got as the law would allow. I was pulling over 40 my senior year of HS. This gave me hard core work ethic, which is something the youth of today lack.
The best thing my mother ever did was make me get a job on my 14th birthday. At the time I hated her but I am thankful now!
KFC is delicious by the way, and yes, they changed the name because of the unhealthy name.

I'd say it is OK to get off topic occasionally, as long as it isn't politics, religion, or anything else that is going to turn into a heated argument on here. I don't see us fighting about fast food choices, although I have to say KFC beats Kenny Rogers Roasters, but that certainly was good too.
Kentucky Pressure Cooker Chicken? KPCC? Somehow I dont think that would have worked.
I believe it is pressure-fried. They are still immersed in oil, but the pressure enables faster cooking.
Got to love Press releases. Because they say it is so, it must be. It does not broaden my perception but in fact by diluting the programming with non- SCI-FI it becomes something other than.
Why couldn't they call it The SF Channel or just SF (like FX)? Much more respectable...
