Just wondering if you guys have window tint on your vehicles? If so what %? Out of our 4 vehicles my truck is the only tinted one but if I had a ton of extra money the rest would be tinted too. The truck came stock with the factory stained tinted glass in the rear like most trucks and suv's. However, I had 5% tint put over that. I had 35% on the front of the trucks windows since I got it but replaced that with 5% too. I ended up getting a ticket a month or so later and removing it. I then had it put back on and got another ticket a few months later so I removed it and just left it off. So the rears are 5% over the factory 18% or so but the fronts are un tinted. I miss it but don't miss the tickets. Just wondered who else had theirs tinted and do you like it?

i've always had tints and limo black tints. done it for over ten years. once had a cop warn me about it years ago. never really had any issues. i've never put tints on the front windshield but i have thought about it. never done it because i believe that would really be pushing it.

It's illegal in most states to have dark tint on the front windows. The reason is for officer safety when making a traffic stop.

I know in Texas (Corpus Christi) when I get my inspection sticker they check for that on the front windows. I do not know how do- it-yourself-ers are checked though. I could be the only check tint that looks darker than usual. I have had a friend have to remove tint on the spot when stopped by police down here.

Just purchased a new car. Had the dealership put the lighter tint on the front doors, what is allowed by Texas state law(according to the guy at the dealership). Backs are darker. They gave it a 5 year warantee and I stressed multiple times that I only wanted what was legal. They said that it was. Had the same thing on my last car for over 5 years and have never been pulled over.

Too often, aftermarket tints seem to have bubbles anyway.

I have been lucky as mine has not bubbled. I did add tint to my windows. I dont have the darkest but I do like it as it keeps things a bit "cooler" in the summer time, car is not as hot I find.

In the pouring rain I saw this guy roll his windows down because he had limo tint on the windows and a copy pulled up next to him. Wonder if he was renting the tint like his wheels from Rent N Roll?

I've also seen a few more with X's cut into the tint and pieces pulled off. The cops will have you cut your tint and pull it on the spot otherwise you can call the tow truck. I stick with the legal percentage even though I would love to go darker. Keeps the car sooooo much cooler in the summer!

Really!, I have never had anything other than the regular factory tint but I was always under the impression tint would increase interior tempertures? I figured dark colors draw more light so would be hotter?

Tints allow less light penetration into the vehicle, thus the cooler temps.

I don't have tint. It would be more expensive than my POS car. :)

I have had my windows tinted since I started driving. The lightest I have ever had is 20%. I think I have 15% now.

I have this because of the heat in south mississippi, and my eyes are very sensetive to sunlight. I can hardly drive a car without it unless I have good sunglasses.

To the OP, they make a static tint that requires no glue. You can pull it off and put it back on in 5 minutes if you know what you are doing. Very easy. You can also not tell a difference between it and the regular tint (at least the kind I use). I use this so that I can take it off, go get my inspection sticker, then put it back on. You still have to take door panels off, but that is true with any tint to get below the window line.

I also agree that if done correctly, there will be no bubbles. I do my own, so I can control how good (or badly) it is done.

I only have the factory tint. I get ticked off at people who really have the dark stuff on the front. I can't tell whether they are paying attention or not at stops. Strictly a safety issue with me.

I dont, lol. I can see if they are paying attention based on how they drive. What they are doing in their cars is none of my concern, so if I can or cant see them makes no difference:p

But then you are not a criminal or a police officer.....
