dish technician showed up today

hey guys today a dish technician came to my house to check my dish. he said that the receiver said i was having signal issues. i told him that ived been messing with the antenna outside . i said that im a sat hobbiest. he said no problem he didnt mind what i do , he said that he will just put some signal numbers on his report . but he reminded me to unplug the phone lineif he didnt want dish to send someone again.
has anyone had this happened to them.?

i wouldnt say its normal but if in haiti its impossible, if in states its within realm of reason

in haiti techs dont have to show up. they just do some voodoo spell on it from their office and the dish fixes itself.

I would think that they should call and make an appointment. I would not allow them to just show up and come in my house.

That would not sit well for a "mover". I can see a tech showing up at an address that either does not exist (ie 245A) or a dwelling with no dish. Can you say busted?

well i did not let him in the house, but i showed him my dish outside. and he saw that i had a dish 1000 setup , and i had my eatern arc dish sitting on the floor. so he had to notice that i was fiddling.

I've heard of them calling about the receiver reporting signal loss issues, but never just sending out a tech... I hope it was legit, but sounds like he was "casing" the place...
