ThisTV is still there...KFDF has it

You keep forgetting that Equity sold all these stations. The owner of KKYK is now the bank of little rock (Arkansas).

Lets enjoy the channels until they're gone

You would have loved 5 years ago when Equity took control of alot of the stations. They changed affiliation weekly it seemed like. I posted something on that with a bunch of links

I found out TuffTV's idea

Take RTV's idea (old shows) + replace most with old sports = tufftv

Saw a motocross show before wrestling was on and I swore the guy sounded like Dave Despain of Speed....but it didnt look like him

well...I was wrong. It was him....the production date of the show was 1991

But I'm liking this old Mid-South wrestling :)

Me personally would rather have 6 channels of different programming then have 6 channels of the same thing (or multiple of the same thing for that matter). The exception was RTV when they had some customized channels

KKYK is a good steady picture, it always shows 100% / 100%
but KFDF is weak or something, it is very flakey, the picture freezes often, it drops to 0% / 0% every few seconds. So it is not watchable. :(

I had given up on it a few weeks ago because of that and I found KKYK was really dependable and very watchable.

About half the channels on that satellite are like that, half of them are very good, half of them are very bad. More or less I guess.
After weeding out the bad channels and the channels with content that I have no use for, I'm down to ONE channel on that satellite, KQDK and I'm unsure of it as of today. Right now there's some mentally unstable guy on a show called "traders nation" and he's just ranting about cars and a horse that "bit me in my breast".. I have no clue what that nonsense is about. Actually, after a few minutes it sounds like a talk radio program with a camera on them.

Is maybe this TV on another satellite by any chance?

If the signal is crapping out on the other transponder then the dish needs to be retweaked a little bit

11720 transponder (where KFDF is ) is a little lower signal than 11800 (where KKYK is). Try moving the dish ever so slightly to lock a better signal on 11720

OH! Ok, thank you! :)

I thought if it got one channel good that it was just right. How odd. This stuff sure is touchy!

Thank you! :)

Smaller dishes will do that with some signals. Larger dishes is usually the solution
You have to remember, in most cases, we are not the intended audience for these channels. The companies they are for usually have much larger dishes.

I know RTV/RTN says a 1.2meter dish minimum for their affiliates that use the KU Band signal.

Oh, ok. I understand now. So I really need to work on getting that bigger dish fixed and put up with a motor on it and quit fighting with all those little ones.

Thank you! :)

not necessarily
The 30"/36" dishes will work just fine but you might have to tweak the dish here and there to bring in best signals

The larger the dish, the less chance you'll have an adjacent satellite screwing up with the signals

According to Wikipedia, Equity Media Holdings Corporation will be ceasing operations and closing doors on August 15th. (Last line of financial trouble section).

Well I went out and messed with the dish a little and got lucky.
The mosquitoes were so bad that I was too busy slapping at them to worry about what I was doing, they were BAD. I gave up and tightened it back and ran inside.
Lucky me! I found that now KFDF comes in good and KKYK no longer comes in good. Personally, I have no use in the world for that new channel. I'm just thrilled to have this TV back! :D

I did discover though that the poles the dishes are on are ALL crooked in the ground. :( I don't know what to do about that. There's no way I can pull them out and replant them, I can't even wiggle them. Maybe that's why I have so much trouble with this stuff?

Thanks! :)

Can we stand the suspense ?

Can we stand the suspense ?

8 more days till we find out what happens on 123 W.

Will G18 Equity channels remain or disappear ?

Apparently that Wikipedia article has being updated and now the August 15 dateline has been removed. Does anyone knows if they will continue broadcasting after that date?

I assume they still will

I've worked with a couple companies that filed bankruptcy before and it was always "business as usual" :)

Lets just enjoy them for now

Oh how weird! Now they are back. I guess someone was playing with the big off switch, just itching to shut down everything good in a few days.

"Remember kiddies, profit first!"

Weather at the uplink sites will mess with those channels, sometimes they will drop out completely during a big rain in Little Rock. Also, if the poles your dishes are on have shifted or gone crooked on ya, you may have to tinker with the elevation and east/west even more to get them zeroed back in. It can be done, you just have to figure out which way to turn the dish to get both H and V with the best strength. Now, for the motorized dish, you will want the pole straight up and down as can be so it will track the satellite arc properly.
