I am getting conflicting answers from Dish regarding the outputs connections on the VIP722 receiver.
Question – Can I have one HD television, on a 6 foot HDMI cable connected to the HDMI output, and at the same time have another HD receiver, on a 50 foot 5c component cable connected to the component outputs? I am also using the SD outputs to the rest of the house via an amplified distribution system. Dish says that if I power up using the HDMI output the HD component outputs will become inactive.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to respond.

You were misinformed. All outputs are active simultaneously. People have reported doing exactly what you wish to do. Only caveat is that both TVs connected to the TV1 HD outputs will be watching the same program.

Just confirmation here that I have an HDMI cable connected to my HDTV in the family room, near the 622 & about 50' of component cable running to an HDTV in the master bedroom. Both TVs show the same thing at the same time.

You will probably find that the HDMI cable is cheaper and easier to run to the distant TV than the Component cables...at least I did. I ran a 50' HDMI with no problems.

5 runs RG-6? Sounds thick. I've drilled large enough holes in headers/footers in my walls. Worth money to not have to drill too many, or too large, holes. Of course, I generally was running 3 coax, 2 (or more) RJ-45 and one phone.

I suppose if those are the only cables going thru, it'd be about the same hole. But go thru that trouble and not run more for the future?
