Finally got the new house ready and the Directv dude is coming between 12 and 4. Moving in this weekend!

I read where the newer HR23's are matte black, sure would be nice for two of those to roll off the truck. Install should be easy for the guy, because the person before me had sat and all the wires run down the side of the house, out of the attic, to a spot with a grounded setup near a pole. Cannot tell if the pole is a Directv or Dish unit, but it is pretty neat because there is a level bulb inside the pole.

Anywho, I've only had good install's from Directv, so I hope this goes well (Dish has screwed up two for me).

You might get HR22 which is what I seen the most of so far. basically the same except hr23 does not need b-band converters for non swm setup.

But I would hope you done and filed for your rebates at directv.com/rebate or at directvrebate.com

Cool let us know how it goes!

I bet it feel great to be back "home" ;)

Man, its been great.

Wifes happy, family is happy, I can get in the car and drive to a particular store without even having to wonder where it is. I can run into a traffic jam on the interstate and get off at any exit and get to my destination. I'll always miss my 2 year stint in South Carolina, but Hampton Roads was not my thing.

One thing about being back is, you realize all that you were missing. Got a group of guys going to the Senior Bowl on the 30th, already got my Mardi Gras plans squared away, and going to the Biloxi Ms Casino's this weekend :).

I'll take some pics of the install and post.

I did my rebates as soon as I ordered :)

HR22 is fine too, thats what I had before.

I know, people dont read. Thats why the contract renewal bugged me, because I read and listen. I did this on 12/23 ;)

Ah?

I hope you got the TVs into the building before the installer arrived. I would reschedule an installation without TVs & any other gear in place.

Report success!

Joe

Glad you are enjoying being home, hope the install goes well!

We are thinking about heading to the casino sat. night as well. What night ya going? We will be at the IP. IP Casino Resort & Spa - Biloxi, Mississippi - 1 888 946 2847

Going Sat. Couple I'm taking for dinner wants to be treated to the Hard Rock.
Its lots of fun. We generally hit the casino hopper and stop at a few. The Beau Rivage, Hard Rock, sometimes the Grand.

Ever since I started going to the IP though, that is pretty much where I stay. They generally send me 4-6 free nights a month, so cant beat going for "free" (well you pay, but...lol)

I always like IP, Boomtown, Grand and Casino Magic. Be my first trip to the boats in 4 years.
Well, they have cleaned up alot since then. The big Margaritaville Casino construction is at a standstill though, and many arent boats anymore:p (or they are getting that way).

Hehe, just a habit in calling them the "boats". :D

Well, install is going well. SWM Slimline dish, and two HR22-100's. Love the matte black over the gloss.

Scheduled between 12 and 4, and he arrived about 12:45.

Sounds good so far,

If he backs over a puppy....tell him you could forget about it for:....a cool blue Directv shirt.......for everybody in the family.

ENJOY free STARZ (ch 518-513) from 1/14/10 to 1/17/10 compliments of...

Joe

All went well, and he did a good job.

Had to pole mount the dish (SWM-5), and install two HDDVR's, and he was onsite from 12:45 or so until about 4.

I'm gettiung install right now. A huge process. Thought it was going to be easy. He's been there 4 hrs and still has a couple hours to go. He brought the H22's but I had 3 23's I bought.

I don't know anything about rebates. How do I find out if I can get any? Or is it too late?
