I have an account at a residence that is set up with locals from my area. I will be taking one of my receivers on the road with me in my mototor home. A Dish rep told me all I had to do is when I get to the new state where I am staying go to menu, then system setup then installation and then point dish. He said to change the zip code on the screen to where I am now staying then I will get the locals for that area. Has anyone tried this? It doesn't sound right to me. Are there any other ways of achieving this locals change while travelling? Thanks

That CSR has no idea what he/she is talking about.... You are subscribed to your home base locals and that is all you can get. When you move out of your local cahnnel spot beam, you are out of luck.

That's what I thought. I mostly travel to one State. Is there a way I can have two sets of locals on my account ? Does Dish let you do that?

No. But it is possible, if you cross your fingers just right.
A lot of times when you switch local channels to another area the CSR will turn on the new locals and forget to turn off the old locals.
This has happened for me and 3 of my close friends and family.
Of course if you drive out of the spot beam this would really not help you.

You have to change your service address to the new location. This results in locals being lost at the home address until you return and change the service address back to that location.
OK Thanks. I guess if your at a camp site for a period of time that's the address they want?
