Arrrgghh... Here in Nashville we have a nice little digital station - WUXP. The reason I like it some much is that it now broadcasts SEC sports throughout the year in HD.... but only over-the-air. DN only carries the SD signal from them.

Here's the problem... whenever I scan for locals, my 622dvr receives just about every other local signal in the area... EXCEPT WUXP!. Although I get it fine when I scan with an antenna hooked DIRECTLY to my TV, my DN receiver just won't find it. While that's fine when I'm home, I'm not home that much and I would like to be able to record games from that channel in HD.

The strange thing is that WUXP's signal is located right beside one of the channels that I receive the strongest even through the receiver.

Do you guys have any suggestions I might try?

can you just manually add the channel? I know on most receivers you can do that

Looks like they broadcast on 21 (real number...not what it maps to)

I meant to add that I only use an indoor antenna... actually rabbit ears! I've tried several other indoor antennas, and nothing as yet has improved upon these rabbit ears. I end up taking all others back <so far>.

Hey Ice... Yes I have tried to add it manually, using channel 21 as the basis. I move the antenna all over the place but its as if it doesn't exist from the standpoint of the receiver?!

After the transition, I had a station come on that was only 2.5 mi away, and it blasted several tuners most notably a 612 which literally could scan in nothing. I suspect some sort of AGC problem, but it's unclear. I did two things. I spent $30 on a trap for the channel adjacent to my nearby station, AND carefully rotated my dipole roof antenna so that the elements were pointing at the station, thereby nulling it out further. That did the trick!

but I'm afraid I don't know what a trap is?
Short way of describing a "notch filter". :D It's a way of attenuating just one very powerful channel so that it doesn't cause problems. This is why I suggested a trap:

There could be a problem with the station's PSIP data (the digital information that defines the stations virtual channel number). The Dish receivers are very sensitive to the signal having correct PSIP information. In the past I have had instances when my Dish receivers would not tune a station, even though it showed 100% signal strength. I still have one station that shows a different virtual channel on the Dish receivers compared to the tuners in my TVs.
