Just got my 2d Coolsat 8000, since I really like it's USALS motor control, and ability to "bump" the dish easily to max the Q. It turns out that with a little electrical tape across the lower third of the remote "window" , the aperture is effective narrowed so that both units ( about 5 ft apart vertically) can be controlled by the single remote.
Now I have both motorized running off the 8000's, with a bevy of other stb's backing them up.
Always a good day when you get a new toy !
:)

cool. Kinda shocked you have 2 8000's? The 8000 is OK but does have some bugs ;)

Worst BUG of all is lack of a channel editor. Leaves me in a lurch, having to use the remote for everything, but all in all, I like it's motor control for fine tuning a dish much better than the AZbox or Vantage ( which I sold, to get money for a Sathawk soon ) . I use it's manual scan function a lot on feeds, which is much faster than entering the stuff into the AZbox.
1. Lacks blindscan
2. No 4:2:2
3. No Channel Editor

BUT- Going for under $100 on ebay.
:)

that was the best part of that receiver. One sat for "feeds" and just manually enter them
