Any New DISH Network News

They just show up.

If you're lucky. Last year there were several occasions when for some unexplained reason, new channels weren't flagged as available to all subscribers. And I don't mean Turbo or Absolute, I mean regular packages.

Then, there's the issue of what Scott posted in the uplink forum, that they're going to be on 72.5 and not 61.5 for people in the east, which is a huge problem if true since they never switched everyone from 110/119/61.5 to 61.5/72.5/77. I'll be demanding either an immediate free upgrade of my dishes (including a suitably large dish to receive my locals, which I currently can't on EA) or a discount in perpetuity for the channels I can't receive. Plus, what are they going to do about notifying people that the new channels are available? Probably nothing, since they're obviously unprepared to deal with the consequences.

I definitely read it first at DBSTalk, because that's where the post was that I read!

Thats because Mr. Vernon if things were not constantly cut from SatelliteGuys and pasted at DBSTalk that there would be zero activity in your Dish Network area.

Its a shame that the only Dish News reported there is stuff COPIED from here at SatelliteGuys.US.

The public knows the truth and thats why we are America's Satellite Information Source. :D

That is a bunch of BullS**it, I used to follow both forums, but sometimes you would even hear something about DirecTV here before you did over there. Scott is the man when it comes to Dish Network. I believe that everything that he posts here he posts with the best of intentions, even it it does not come to pass.
And Scott, I wanted to let you know in reference to the post that I made earlier in this thread, I certainly did not mean to sound condescending toward you. I do not doubt the information that you received about the HD adds at all, I was just trying to say (in a poor sounding way) that they could end up like the EPix deal in January. However, I am positive that you are posting the news with the best of intentions to let us know about what is happening as you hear it. I realize that it could change today, or tomorrow right before the channels are supposed to go live. But I KNOW from experience that the most accurate information about the DBS industry or even what is left of the C-Band industry is found here.

No worries Bob. :)

I will be the first to admit that they are better at the DirecTV stuff then us, but if you notice we have been breaking a lot of DIRECTV news that they have not posted. It seems like they only post the DirecTV news that DirecTV wants them to post.

Like always I will keep m y ear to the ground and report anything I hear, good and bad about anything in the satellite industry.

BTW I should note that we did a live Scotty Chat and just moments before we went on the air I got word from a number of sources about the HD being turned on this week. In that chat I kept saying the HD would be moved back to 61.5 in time for the launch. It wasn't until the chat just ended that I received some internal documentation indicating that the new HD would only be on 72.7 and 129 (except for BBC America which will be on 61.5)

I was pumping out the information last night as quickly as I was getting it. And as last night showed things can change quick in this industry, but again I reported it first. ;)

Seriously? So 119/110/61.5 is no longer going to be a supported install? Dish is going to have A LOT of pissed of customers tomorrow. I for one will be on a chat in short order Thursday demanding a 1000.4 dish.

If there wasnt a transponder failure on 61.5 a few weeks ago then the channels would be on 61.5 instead of 72.5.

They can't hold them back any longer.

"Them" meaning the channels? Otherwise I would think Dish could just wait for E6 to get there.

Perhaps that's why no word on the Tech Forum, they will go to 61.5 when E6 gets there, but they don't want people to know they are out there so they won't demand a dish upgrade in the meantime.

Yes them meaning the channels.

And yes that why no mention on Tech Chat, they dont want a bunch of angry calls on Thursday from people demanding upgrades to see the channels.

If the customers don't know they are there then they wont complaign. :)
