Watched first three today. With exception of totally empty streets and roads (unrealistic under scenario) I am enjoying it. Good actors and characters. And of course, the can't do without government conspiracy. The rich playboy actor I have seen before, but I can't place him yet. One of the better TV sci-fy's in a while.

I haven't caught this week's yet, but watched last week and enjoyed. Last week they did get the sound of flies right in the Hospital... ;)
What was wrong with last week's flies?

The only problem with the premise is that in the real world if all the nuclear power plants were left unmanned for a week or more, there would be nuclear melt downs all across the planet, like Chernoble in the former USSR. This would cause radiation across most of what is left of the population killing all the remaining survivors. France next door to Britain , has about 45 nuclear power plants. Imagine all the radiation that would be produced by that many power plants left unattended, and they melt down.

One would hope that they all have automatic shutdown systems in place and slowly but surely the grid would lose power, until in a few weeks there was no power at all.

I guess we have to assume that all the nuclear power plants have this shut down . But I am doubting that since the population of the world seemed to drop out within a day on the show. But I guess I will have to suspend disbelief ,if I want to keep watching it.
