Isnt this just typical of how Charlie does business? On every front he lies, cheats and steals. along with nickle and diming, dropping channels at will and etc.
well, someone better be sending me a TiVo as I don't pay 115 a month to 'watch' TV as I DVR everything and watch it later.

Every businessman does that anymore. It's disgusting. Capitalism has become a religion, and therefore the courts should be constitutionally bound from enforcing its laws, but nobody seems to want to agree with me on that. I guess that's what happens when you let people with liberal arts degrees make technical decisions.
TiVo is better than NO DVR. TiVo has the worst UI of any DVR, has few to no shortcuts, requires several navigation of folders and sub-folders just to get to anything, and has the worst remote design of any DVR I have ever seen.
I like both the ViP series and TivoHD DVRs. To be honest, I think we still like the E* HD DVRs a little better. Regardless, we love FiOS HD...so it's Tivo for us!!!
I can't wait for the 922 DVR. From the pre-release info, I think it will far surpass any DVR on the market today, including current Dish and Tivo models.
Folks, it's only a matter of time before Tivo goes after the ViP series HD DVRs...to include the 922!!! The way I see it...Charlie will have to enter into a licensing agreement for each-and-every DVR in the EchoStar lineup...or Tivo will move to shutdown (DVR functions) all infringing DVR models. As previously mentioned, "Tivo holds all the cards."
If you have to ask that, then you need to stay away from investing.
People who are buying now are doing it either on emotion of with the mindset that they can sell when it peaks and catch profit on the downslide. Once it happens it will be pretty fast free fall, likely as it did in the past news of court rulings, over a week's period of time. The stock kind of leveled off at 16- 16.50 and after hours is pushing to 17.00. It may even climb to 18 as people are now chasing the stock. (FOOLS)
Where we may have a solid hold on this is if within the next 4 weeks we see Dish Network sign some sort of deal. This would be great for TIVO investors as it would cause another jump in the stock.
The bad news is TIVO still has a .11 loss per share when business is normal. A deal with Dish would help but TIVO needs to get it's costs in line with its income outside of suit awards.
I'll buy back into TIVO when they actually begin to do something again. For now, I stay on the sidelines and keep my money in Google and Apple, and a bit in DishNetwork too.
Companies that will continue to profit with good products.
You may be waiting a long-time if Charlie doesn't ink a lincensing agreement with Tivo...SOON! Given E*'s past (stealing Tivo's patents), Tivo could move to enjoin all ViP series DVRs as being "colorably different" and block the 922 from being released.
We shall see...
The 922 is safe as are the rest of the VIP line. Someines trying to speadcfear again to try driving people to fios again I see.

Not every Dishnetwork subscriber has a DVR.But what Dish does have is good programming choices.

Not trying to spread fear nor drive anyone way...just stating that Tivo will soon be going after the ViP series DVRs. Of course, E* can avoid this situation by entering into a licensing agreement with Tivo. I hope they do because I would love to see E* release the T2200S (cable version of the 922).The 922 is safe as are the rest of the VIP line. Well, if they go after the VIP series then they will probably have to go after Scientific Atlanta, Motorola, AT&T, Verizion, and anyone else that provides a DVR. This is already happening...Tivo has filed suits against AT&T (U-Verse) and Verizon (FiOS) claiming their DVRs infringe on Tivo patents. In turn, AT&T and Verizon are countering by claiming the Tivo DVR violates several of their patents, and I believe Microsoft is getting involved.

Microsoft has quite a portfolio of patents... I am sure some of them have to do with DVR function in regards to what Media Center does. I used to love my Dishplayer (ahh, my first DVR).
I am not a Tivo fan at all and prefer the speed of the Dish DVR. Echostar, Direct, AT&T, Microsoft, & Comcast should all ban together, cross license all of their DVR patents and try to sue Tivo into oblivion.
