availability

I would rather have the 5ms ping!!!

Does anyone know if Dish going to enable TV2 output via update after release or did they just cross it off the feature list. I have been wanting to switch to Dish and waiting for the 922 so I could have 2 tv's + sling at the same time on 1 box but they seemed to kill it at the last minute :(

The ping's are usually always very low for me - at least when i do the speedtest. They usually pick the closest test server to your location so it has the fewest hops, which will reduce the ping Run the test again with a server that's not so close and the ping times go up, for me anyhow.

I do love those fios speeds. I wish the down speeds were a little faster though since i already get those speeds. Paying another $25/mo just for the faster upload almost doesn't seem worth it.

In addition to my slingbox, I run a couple of web servers and an email server for my family. So, upload was critical to me.

I also have ooma, so the big upload pipe and low ping times and jitter are certainly helpful.

I run my own server as well, although i'm fortunate enough to have someone with the spare hardware and bandwidth that I can keep it at a colo facility for free. Otherwise I'd do the same as you (if fios was available for me) and host my server at home.

There seems to be some hope for this feature, but no guarantees.

No one is going to get it for free.

I am getting 2 for free. It is denoted on my account as a deal I made with them almost a year ago. I've been with them forever & ran into some issues and planned ahead for their eventual release.

Mine was free.

My local dealer knows I'm into this stuff and he signed up for the beta testing, but let me play with it. Talked to him recently and he doesn't want it back. As soon as the official release is announced he'll switch it over to my account.

Oh ok can I get one too?

Yea I am done with my 2 yr commitment. I am month to month now. I would recommit for one and pay also just to get it and check it out. I wonder when we can upgrade and commit to a new contract the date the 922 is comming out?

Just an update... (Consider this a rumor though...)

As I mentioned before warehouses are starting to 922's in stock. They have not gone out to retailers yet. The word I am getting now is the street date is 4/14.

Also getting word that the MSRP on the 922 is $649.

No word on leasing pricing yet.

I'll pass. Good luck to all who do want this receiver and get it, & to all of those who have the $$$ to do so. I am sure it will be quite buggy at first.

Yup thats a great attitude. I can not afford it soo I hope since you can, it sucks and be buggy for you.

Having owned a 921 and now having a 922, the difference is night and day. The 922 was buggy at first, but has been very stable for some time now. They still have to enable the EHD and I'll test that a little before I move it to the main room, but I don't think it's going to be that buggy.
