At 6:25 am central time I am receiving NO signal from this transponder. All other transponders work on the 61.5 sat including spotbeam for my locals. But the 32 transponder is dead and no signal. I rebooted and still no signal. I am getting NO Morning Joe recording at all. What's up DISH? Another transponder going dead on the old satellite?

So 32 transponder has the following HD channels affected:

374 FTV
385 MGM
394 Wfn
497 Hustler
208 CNBC
209 MSNBC
214 TWC
215 Travel

Transponder 16 has the following HD channels affected:

119 Biography
151 Vs
187 HMC
311 Max
314 5 Max
371 CTRC
400 Tennis
401 Golf

Transponder 16 had a signal of 50 and Transponder 32 had one of 49 ,before this morning. I was recording Morning Joe and it went black and searched for signal on both tuners I checked on. I also checked the channels I listed above and all black.

Okay I am getting the channels back on the receiver . Must of been a small problem on the satellite and it is now working.

Mine is dead too. I'm just glad it wasn't the trees/clouds again. I was already considering taking a shotgun to the top of the tree. I'm not too educated on this type of thing, what is the next course of action from Dish.

Looks like the transponders on the old Echostar satellite at 61.5 are slowly dieing out one by one. Good thing the Old Rainbow Voom satellite is handling the spotbeams for locals. My home town and Houston are both on that satellite. Now I wonder if the old Echostar satellite will last till July when they launch the replacement .

I get my locals (Columbia, SC) from the 61.5 although i don't kow which transponder and i'm having problems with the picture tearing and going out pretty frequently. I suppose this is another indicator of the iminent failure of the 61.5.

Sorry, but I'm confused about these satellite issues. How many does Dish need and why are they all over the sky? It would seem like two or three could cover the whole US of A. Forget about Mexico as no one lives there anymore as they are all living in my town as evidenced by the number of dishes on "single family" homes and vans and pickups parked on the lawns. Canada is OK, but no need for any foreign stuff. Problem solved, eh?
