NFL preseason 2010-2011 Official discussion thread!

Buffalo Buffoons- The Third Edition, now with more points

Spiller sparks Bills to 34-21 win over Colts - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

I know it's only preseason, but I was in disbelief.

I had to rub my eyes- Buffalo had what seemed like an ACTUAL moving NFL offense!

Points! Big gains! Yards! Touchdowns! CJ Spiller!

And then it hit me.... not only was it preseason, but it wasn't even in Orchard Park. It was in Toronto.

Maybe that's why the Bills looked so good offensively- in Canada, perhaps they understand how to move the ball better than they do in Buffalo!

We're they using a Canadian League field ?

I saw about one play when I went to the NFL network and didn't check out the field, but there is no way on earth they would play anything with the NFL shield attached to it on a CFL field.

McNeil and Jackson received their roster exempt letters.

Now they can't play until 3 weeks after they sign their tenders if they ever do. That means if they want to come back by week 10, they've got to sign by week 7 and the Chargers can make them practice and stuff until they're allowed to play.

The roster exempt status stays even if Jackson is traded to the Seahawks, but he has a suspension pending too so that could happen concurrently I think.

That just opened the AFC West even MORE. I honestly no longer think the San Diego Chargers are a lock in the division. NOW, I think a 9-7 wins the division and the rest are outside looking in.

I think the dimensions were NFL standard. The Rogers Centre website has seating plans for both CFL & when the Bills play there. The groundskeepers must of pulled an all nighter because the Argos played the Ti-Cats the next night at Rogers Centre(on regulation CFL field).

`Fatigue’ slows Heyward-Bey - Inside the Oakland Raiders - A look inside the world of the highly classified Oakland Raiders from the writers of Bay Area News Group

But have no fear. He’ll be rested and ready to explode come Sept. 12 and the regular-season opener in Tennessee.

IMO, this is a worse pick than Russel, at least other teams would of taken Russel in the top 10. No one else was taking BHB in the 1st round. Taking that stiff over Crabtree was a colossal blunder by Davis.

The career stats for the WRs that Campbell will be throwing to:

134 catches, 1912 yards, 13 TDs

Has the potential to be a train-wreck.

Steelers tonight Jimbo, on the NFL network I think. Of course I have to work, good thing I have a DVR.

Yes, it's on NFLN at 7 PM and I will be watching the first half at least and recording it as well. Dad will also want to see it, he's out of town.

Also will have time to see a bit of the Lions afterwards, I always watch the 1st team anyways.

Should be Big Ben's chance to start tonight (I would guess he'll start) I would think maybe the 1st string may play the first half and get Ben and Letfwitch in .... Left needs a lot of work if last week is any indication.

Also interested to see Dixon play again, last week he looked much better than Left, although he was against 2's and 3's.
maybe next week they will start Dixon, that would be good (Denver).

I'm pretty sure it was a standard NFL sized field, I was only joking when I posted that. :D

For the past seven seasons, at least one NFL team has been undefeated past Halloween.

The last time the last unbeaten team suffered an early loss was in 2002, when the Raiders got out to a 4-0 start- since then, there was at least 1 unbeaten team each year at the midpoint of the season.

Will that streak continue, or will the 1972 Dolphins pop champagne before Halloween?

You know, watching Brett Favre play reminds me of an old movie starring Charlton Heston called "Number One." It's a movie about an aging 40 year old QB wanting to come back one more season to lead his team to the Super Bowl. It also has a back-up African American QB waiting in the wings to take over for him when he fails. Unfortunately, the movie(as old as it is) isn't on DVD......yet.

I watched the 49ers knock the rust off of him, then the Vikings pull him after playing him even less than their conservative '10 plays or more than a 3 and out' estimate and turn off the TV.

Rich Eisen said it best on Twitter a little bit ago - "Favre taking just four snaps: NBC's biggest bummer since Jay Leno at 10pm."
