OFFICIAL DISH / FOX ORDEAL DISCUSSION THREAD

I don't watch any of the affected channels, so the only reason I care about this is because I suspect that Charlie will, as always, fail to lower my price to compensate for the reduced channel count.

The only other way I could care is if we somehow got National Geographic Music out of it, but I'm not sure anybody in North America carries that, so I doubt it's likely.

In certain situations, Dish Network has reduced prices to compensate for missing channels. The most common example is when locals were missing a network due to a dispute, and then there was always a credit of something like $1.50 a month.

Usually they prefer to add a different channel ( and it would not surprise me to see the Sony channel used in that way ), so as to not reduce revenue.

By the way, I saw the preview on National Geographic Channel of NatGeo Music and definitely enjoyed it - it consisted of all those music videos which would never get shown in the USA. However, after about 8-10 hours, they started repeating, so it appears that there was only limited material available.

But I'd love to see it.

PS The channels are still available as of 12:09 am Eastern Time...

i can't remember if it was this thread or the other thread about this dispute, but the channels will be removed at 12:00 AM PDT not EDT, which would be 3 AM EDT, 2 AM CDT, 1 AM MDT, and also 12:00 AM MST (Arizona time). so let's see if they made a deal to keep the channels on after midnight PDT/MDT.

It'll be just like New Year's Eve! I don't have champagne, but I can definitely crack a beer at 12 midnight just as all the Fox channels go black.

From a dish employee I can tell you this. They are really pushing over time even making some people come on on there day off. They are really expecting a high call volume this weekend. Also the same thing is happening with MSG/MSG Plus(Maddison Square Garden). MSG has already cut the feed to DISH.
They cover:

• NY Knicks (NBA)
• NY Islanders (Hockey)
• NY Rangers (Hockey)
• NJ Devils (Hockey)
• Liberty (WNBA)
• Red Bulls (Soccer)
• Buffalo Sabres (Hockey)

Figured you fine folks might want to know that.

Boo, hopefully they can work something out and soon. This is really lousy timing. I was looking forward to watching the Suns kick off their season.

Wow, two programming disputes at once. Plus still no Fuse or Disney channels in HD. Dish is really pushing their luck...

looks like Dish is gonna see a mass decrease in subs in the next few months. this might be the straw that broke the camels back for most Dish customers who cares about sports and FX and Nat Geo.

edit: what's on 136 now, is it one of the movie channels

Ok so Dish and their "we're fighting against these outrageous demands!" line is now officially tired, it's hard to believe this company anymore when they are now in a dispute with pretty much everyone. Fuse pulled, Fuse's replacement pulled, Disney HD nets pulled, FOX pulled.. Enough's enough Chuck, open your wallet and deliver the content to your customers that every other provider in the damn country is able to provide.

Looks like they just opened up what's left of the sports pack (including ESPN Classic, but not Red Zone?) starting on channel 9660.

EDIT: Also looks like they put up a SD feed of HDNET Movies in place of the SD FX.
