Correct me if I am wrong. I thoiught when you went into the menu and then into Locked section you could lock out channels so they wouldn't show up on your listings. I just hate to get so many duplicate channels and the long list of NBA, NHL and VOD channels that just clutter up my list. I know I can make my own favorite list but what is up with the so-called lock channels? Maybe I am just looking at it wrong. Thanks

The problem I have in my market is that we have OTA ch. 1 (w/like 12 sub channels) and VOD channels won't disappear if you have ch 1 even when you lock out VOD ch 1 in the menu. Only when both channel 1s (OTA & VOD) are deleted is when the VOD are gone from the guide.

I try to lock but it says I have a password already. I don't! Never set one up ever in 13 years. Is there a default password?

To lock your system you had to create a 4 diget password. if you do n not remember the 4 diget pass qord call dishnetwork and they can help you unlock you receiver.

Where's there an OTA channel 1? I thought channel 1 (last seen at 44-50 mhz) went away in May of '48 - and that's even before my time.

There is a station in San Fransisco that maps to channel 1

KAXT

On July 31, 2009, KAXT-LD began ATSC digital TV transmissions on RF channel 42. The DTV virtual channels between KAXT-LD's Channel 22 and KRCB Channel 22 Cotati, had significant overlap, forcing KAXT-LD to a new virtual channel. They stations operates on Channel 1, with 12 different video program streams and 3 audio-only channels, with plans to expand the audio-only channels to 8 for a total of 20 channels.

Yup, this is the one. Apparently both channels were using the same virtual channel when this station came on so the FCC let KAXT to change to any other unused virtual channel. They picked channel 1.
