Well I am a new customer to Dish. I ordered the AT120 with HD Plat.. Pack. I got free HD for life which is awesome. i am a former Directv Customer. I am expecting great things from Dish! I am excited to be getting it.

Hi, welcome! If you're anything like me you will be enjoying every minute of DISH Network!

Its an HD Receiver. I did not want DVR because of the DVR fee. I don't know the model number will find out Tomorrow.

Depending upon the number of rooms you need service to you'll either be getting a VIP222/K (two room) receiver or a VIP211/K (single room) receiver. The nice thing about the VIP211/K is that if you want you can turn it into a DVR by paying a one time $40 fee and adding an external hard drive to it. You won't be able to watch one program and record another but you will be able to record programs without paying the $6 a month DVR fee.

Well I called in an upgraded to the AT 200 instead of 120. I will like it much better it has NFL Network in it plus GSN!

Well I already went a little over budget with the programming (BUT THATS OK). so at this time no DVR. Hopefully in the future.

I understand keeping within a budget. However, if you do decide to get a DVR, especially within the next year, your cost to do so could be substantial ($100.00 +). Many folks have wished they had taken full advantage of new customer equipment offerings when they had the chance. Just food for thought.

Agreed. If you have any doubt that you will want DVR, time for mac and cheese for awhile to pay for it! :)

I think I would give up HD before I would give up DVR

get VIP922 is the best BOX... i have 3 of them with everything pak for months,722s is old school!

I have a 922 and a 722K, where you get that the 722 is old school I do not know. I like the user interface of the 922 better and the larger hard drive, but other than that I could care less. Is it really worth the extra $4 per month DVR fee? Not really, but myself, I like it enough to warrant paying it, but your analysis of the 922 is very overstated in my opinion. For someone who does not care about the UI, the 722 is the best way to go.
