As you know we can only get signals from 110, 119 and 61.5 satellites. As you seem to be moving everyone to and EA or WA.set up. We are loosing our premium HD off the 61.5. How is Dish going to address this problem or are we going to have to pay for channels we no longer get.

Any insight would be appreciated

I hope I am not stepping on anyones toes here, but I dont know if the DISH IRT folks will be able to answer this one as I am guessing they haven't been told yet whats going on.

Most reps dont get told things until after they happen.

In fact it wouldn't surprise me if many of these guys find out about these moves here at SatelliteGuys first then they do from their own employer.

The guys we have here probably wouldn't even want to guess as they are trying to give out 100% accurate information.

With that said I know that PR is a very important market for DISH so I have my ear to the ground and will report back on what I hear as soon as I hear it. :)

I only have one question: Why not put the HD channels we (PR customers) are missing out of the 119/110 traditional PR setup on 61.5 so that we could get them? Anyhow we are paying the same as CONUS customers. When at last we have good access to three sats (last year when they put the new sat on 61.5) they decide to throw the HD out of the 61.5. And the ones on 61.5 are blacked out (shown red on the guide) like if we were not paying for them.

Your not stepping on any ones toes, would just like some answers. I was getting ready to add a 4 ft dish for the 61.5 to get my missing channels, then all the moves started. I just don't think it unreasonable to get the programing you pay for when you sign a contract.

Ouh my feet hurts. haha I don't think you are stepping on any ones toes either. My neighbors and I are just voicing our frustration over this mess, with the hope that someone high enough hear us. I'm glad that we have this place, just to do that.

Scott is worried about stepping on IRT toes since he was sorta/kinda answering for them.

Scott; as ever, we are grateful for your input and knowledge. Hope this gets to a happy solution for all of us here at PR (and USVI). (As an example, we are not even getting all of our mapdowns correctly. e.g., To watch Cinemax-E in HD we have to go to the 4923, since it is not mapping down to 310).

According to the CSR's we are not even supposed to have the 61.5 dish down here. So the question is how are we supposed to get all our programing

Yeah they messed up the mapping a few weeks ago and havent fixed it, I did notice that. :)

Looking at this press release http://www.satelliteguys.us/dish-ne...ork%AE-hd-lineup-puerto-rico.html#post1915565 from DISH Network does seem to indicate that it is a one DISH solution.

I don't know if 61.5 was ever an officially supported location in PR.

Where is our pal Nel who would have a better memory on this stuff then I do. I hope he sees this and chimes in.

For years, the Puerto Rico market was left behind, mostly for technical problems. People have to buy large dishes to receive programing. Now Dish has the capacity to give us all the programming we pay for. I'm tired of excuses. I will campaign until we get what we deserve. I don't pretend that all of you understand what we feel but Dish has gone to far and we won't give in as we did before.

My opinion is that is just ridiculious that Dish launched a new sat to the 61.5 location. They at least should kept the premuim hd channels there. If they as a company want to force everybodu yo the Eastern Arch(or Western) that's ok, but the same way we are blacked out of TMC-HD and Encore-HD the subscribers from CONUS could have the same restriction and keep the channels there. I could care lessif we have to tune a different channel number, but damn don't take away the channels. I pay almost $170 a month including tax for all those channels and I'm aboot to just keep the AT-250. For years I had the same programming as the CONUS and as time goes by I keep losing and keep paying the same as those on the main land.

Maybe Dave Shull should get on this forum and see how unhappy his customers are. How kind of him to throw us a bone of 14HD Channels and no HD distant networks. As for the one Dish solution of drilling a hole through the lnb and the main strut, not really much of a solution

If they want to force everyone to an arc they just have to move the basic hd channels to 72, that's what the majority subscribe to, everyone with a mix arc is going to yell asking for a 1000 dish. The problem here is that us in PR and Virgin Islands don't have that option. We lose the channels no dish solution for us. A brand new sat with perfect coverage for the Caribbean without channels available. HOW STUPID IS THAT. Leave the the premiums on 61.

Hi Scott Good Day to all! The things is that since last year when echostar 15 for 61.5 go started we knew that this will be happening alot of people that have the hd form 61.5 knew that this was coming for us in PR! This order has come from Dish Home Office all of the retailers here in PR have been complaining to Dish about this but they are saying that they are going to put more HD for us on 119 and 110. I have made tests at nome and with a 22" dish I get 61.5 real strong but this is order from Dish they don't want the people in PR to get HD from 61.5 they want everybody here to have the same setup. I know this is a bad decision for us since I have been with Dish since 1998 and as Technoguy and TomP has said in the past that all of the dealers here in PR have been pushing this issue to but Dish does not want to activate 61.5 for PR. Like TomP says it's very strange why the put a new bird this strong for us in PR and can't even use it! Such Is Life!

So are you saying that once they finish all the moves on the 61.5 - 72.7 and move everyone else to an EA/WA set up then they might get around to freeing up some space on the 110/119 for us to get a few more HD channels.

I also find it interesting that Dish is complaining about LIN for price gouging, yet everyone else who pays $59.99 gets top 200 channels We down here for the same price we have to go with the gold and settle for 85 Channels.

You have to do what I did this morning. Explained the situation for the 100th time and just went ahead and asked them to cancel my 193.00/month for more than 14 years. She stated after 100 excuses and "I know how you feel" kind of feedback she said you have to call back on the day it expires, but what what they don't know is that I will let my account expire and anything owed I will let it go delinquent and when they call to collect, I will ignore them as they did with Puerto Rico.

My credit rating is the least of my worries. For all those years I never had autopay and NEVER was I late.

There comes a time in life such as in Egypt and Libya when people just say I HAVE HAD IT and that moment for me was today. I own all my SIX VIP receivers and since probably they make them useless after not paying I will just open them and play with them and of course get all the PPV I can in three weeks.

The bottom line is: DISH in Puerto Rico can GO TO HELL and by the way F--K yourselves including Ergen.

DISH IS A THIEF. They did not pay our local taxes for over a year even though it was being collected and were forced to pay over two million dollars. What an example. OOPS i forgot.

If you guys in Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands don't take a stand that hurts them in the pocket, don't cry later.

dbs2000 what are you doing for TV service now?

What alternatives are available? I don't know about satellite services and whats available on the island. I would love to learn more!
