Do you really need the Super-dish Repoint Kit?

Hey guys, I have been pondering if I should purchase the super-dish repoint kit for 121 super-dish, the question that I have though is, if I bought the normal Dish 500+ LNB and then drilled out the holes larger for the original Dish 500+ LNB would that work as it would be the cheapest option as I see them selling cheap on ebay, the issue that I wonder is did dishnetwork only make a 121 repoint kit because of the holes that the 121 dish has or is it because the 121 focal point is different then the orginal Dish 500+ LNB from the orginal 500+ Dish ( the only notice I see is the actual mounting hardware but I can't tell the length of the actual brackets from the screws to the LNB for both of them)
 
That will work just fine. I have done it many times out at service calls. We take out the two skrews from the bottem of the onboard arm then remove the old 121 gear and then put the new hardware over the arm and mark the hole. Just one will due fine
 
Thanks for the reply, So am I to understand that this would not be an issue to do and there is no cause for concern for any signal issues, and that dishnetwork only did this because of the mounting hardware and to make it easy for installs using the same screws and holes (pretty sure drilling into the metal on a dish is against dish policy for a tech installer) ahahaha ?
 
They did it for speed. I take the arm down to my truck with vice I'm sure if dish would alow them to drill it out you would have techs punching holes in you roof along with the arm. Signal issues would not be coused if you get it right just put the lnb arm allthe way in the new onboard bracket when you make your hole.

I find the conversion bracket a pain as the metric
 
What I mainly ment was it was for speed (why couldn't I say that ahaha) but I can see your point, the last question I have is why are the holes so small for the 121 LNB anyways the 118/119 LNB is solid and the holes are for it to be solidly bolted on and of course for good reason, Would you say that technically this is a better setup then the 121 repoint kit? (drilling that is, more solid when bolted with larger bolts instead of the small bolts it orginally came with, (also last question) Is the 121 dish better for signal then the orginal Dish 500+ as its hard to tell from images but it appears the 121 dish is larger then the orginal Dish 500+ Dish? Also do you have any other info I might be missing for this install ?
