Does anyone know where to purchase a D-Shaped LNB 24inch/60cm dish ? im having a hard time accruing one, I know winegard made them but i can't seem to find them for sale anymore, any links (hopefully links are allowed if not pm me) would be greatly appreciated !

Why would it have to be a D shaped? Most larger dishes (60cm/76cm) have a 25mm holder that you can just crack the case off the LNB and it will fit just fine. Done that numerous times

I was wanting to have 129 on a separate dish due to trees being in the way where my current Dish 500+ is mounted, the idea was to move 129 to the roof where I can get signal as opposed to having 129 on the 500+ which comes in and out as the tree branches move in the wind, and as for the 60cm dish, thats just to maximize on signal and avoid as much rain fade as possible

but again why not get a larger dish (like 76cm as example) that is readily available and use that instead? Have a LNB for 129 and just gut the casing. Like I say I've dont it numerous times and it still works fine.

Here is an example I did on an old Primestar dish. The little "dip" where the LNB goes in is 25mm. So I cracked the casing behind the LNB eye and fit it in the slot.

and the 2nd pic is what a gutted LNB looks like

I have an old 20 something" dish that was installed when I lived by Seattle and the old 129 sat was wobbling around. I think it is 24" dia and I'm pretty sure it has the D shaped arm. I don't know if I have the J-bracket and there isn't the LNB for it, but I'm pretty sure I don't need it anymore. I'd be willing to part with it for a fair price + shipping. It is in the original box that is about 30" x 30" x 6" and weighs probably 20 lbs.

I see what you mean, Yeah that could work, the other idea I had was to repurpose my super dish lnb and just use the 119 side for hitting 129 because again a mount could also be made for it, by the way thanks for the pictures and info :)

I plan to go with Iceberg's suggestion as I have all the parts needed to complete the job (just didn't think to configure it in this manor) I think its over kill now to order the dish when I have the parts, but only question is the plastic lip on top of the lnb, What purpose does it serve? Is it just to keep water off, and if it doesn't have the lip will it be ok? (I know the old 18inch direct tv dishses had the LNB without this lip (or am I overacting and should just complete the project) :)

I use 2 .9m (36") dishes in my set up. The plastic cover of the LNB's have been removed and the clamps with a bit of work adapted just fine to fit the necks LNB's. I'm on EA and have signals around 70 or so on them all the time. Have had on 6 mins signal loss in a very heavy thunderstorm since I went to these.

Thank you for your comment, I thought it was just for show, as other LNB's are not covered in this fashion, for the most part all 3 satellites on the western arc (Dish 500+) come in fine its just the 129 that has the issues, thanks to trees, but I am sure when I move 129 to the roof all be golden, more importantly it's now pretty straight forward to accomplish (run your cables and such) if in time all take pictures of the setup when the project is complete
