I tried to get the 97W and 103W on a 36" dish but so far everything failed. The Dish is pointed to 97W and I get the 97W very well. I added a bracket to get the 103W but nothing worked so far.

Do you think this is feasible? Anyone has pictures on how to mount the 103W LNB?

Thanks!

What type of bracket are you using? That will be very difficult to accomplish because they are so close together,

Yes, it is very feasible, I have it on a 80cm dish. Below is an older photo showing 97 on centre, and 103 to the right (don't forget about the skew of 103, use the same skew as you would use for 74). My current setup now has 97 off-centre right against the LNB arm, so as to increase the signal on 103 which moved closer to the LNB arm.

Don't forget that you may have to raise or lower the LNB depending on whether 101 is higher in the sky than 97 (then the LNB would have to be lower than 97) or lower in the sky (and then the LNB has to be higher than 97, as it is for me, see the photo below).

I did not get this part. You meant 103 instead of 101? In your pic the 103 is higher then 97. I guess mine should be higher too. BTW, are you getting the Huntington Beach Webcams?

I use this LNB, is it good for the job?

Yes, meant 103 instead of 101, typo error (though it does apply to 101 as well!).
The Huntington Beach webcams come it quite well, one of the strongest transponders on the satellite.

I have some of those on other satellites, and the LNB that is pointed at the 103 is also a Digiwave, but a different model. All work well.

Plus AMC1 at 103 has that skew problem so you will need to make that additional adjustment or wait about 3 weeks when it it scheduled to be replaced by SES3.

Thanks for the info. I guess I better wait then. At what orbital will it be placed? 103 or different?

It all depends where you are in the country. For example, if you are near Brandon MB, they would both be the same height in the sky. Check dishpointer.com for accurate heights in the sky. Just think about that somewhat rainbow shaped curve, Geostationary (Clarke) Belt, in the sky where the satellites reside.

Thanks guys,

I'm in Montreal, Canada. I'll check dishpointer for the heights once the SES3 is in its place.

I have done it with my 84cm dish. Right now I have 97 & 101 on it. It can be done on a 90cm you have I'm sure.

Look at this old post of what I did it should help a lot:

Thanks tvropro, I know it's feasible but it's beyond my capabilities. I'll stick to 103 instead.

According to DishPointer, 97W have 32.7 Elevation and 103W has 30.1 Elevation. Since the Dish is pointed to 97W and 103W is offset then the 103W LNB should be below to the right (if you are standing in front of the Dish, not behind), correct?

Above and to the right. See if the directions in the attached link is of assistance.

As SatelliteAV says, higher, not lower. For me, 97 is 37.8, 103 is 35.6 (a difference of 2.2). Your difference is 2.6, so if you look at my previous photo, your 103 has to be slightly higher than mine is.

Hi all, I finally did it. I'm now watching Huntington Beach 2 live cams. So cool! It will be heart warming to watch when -40c temperature hits Montreal :)

The signal is not that good. It gets affected by rain. I did not anything else from the 103 except for a few radios. No Pentagon.
