I am not sure what the make up of the Marlins are, but if they are a younger team. His approach may work for the Marlins.

I hate the White Sox and Guillen helped make it easy to hate them. That being said, I am kind of sad to see him leave Chicago. He is a pretty good manager and the Tigers vs Sox rivalry won't be the same without him.

This had nothing to do with the Sox vs. Tigers and everything to do on how tired the WS were with Ozzie. AND, the Marlins almost made the incredibly stupid move of trading Mike Stanton for him. CRAZY! Loria has wanted him to be manager almost 2 years now.

I know the deal had nothing to do with the Tigers. That is just what came to mind for me hearing that he was leaving.

Loria and Guillen? How long do you give this marriage?

Hard to say.... I mean I thought they made a big mistake in letting "manager of the year" in Joe Girardi go because he told Loria...."no". But yet he hired the old man, Jack Mckeon...who also frequently told him no, twice!

Loria is the strangest MLB owner I have ever seen...! One minute he fires a very good manager for not kissing his a$$...then hires a guy twice that definately didn't kiss his a$$!

...and in between Girardi and McKeon, another good manager came and went.

This could be really good, but could also be disastrous for the team and players.

It could...but, I think the two main reasons to sign him was to have some communication with Hanley and also hope he can recruit some big name latin players.....like a Albert Pujols.

Exactly! And he HAS won a World Series for a team that had not won anything at all.

No doubt he knows how to coach. He is kind of like T.O. in football where he wants a lot of attention but is good at what he does.
