So at this point, the only feed of "Velocity" I get is 5710 and tuning to that test channel with no guide, I get a Car show.

Is that the new premise "Velocity" = "Cars" ? Is it still owned by Discovery ?

PS Does the Travel channel move mean that Weather is soon to move off of 214 as well ?

Yep it is still owned by Discovery. They just changed the name. Discovery said that Velocity will target wealthy people and wealthy people love cars? Maybe something new from the Weather Channel is coming to 215, like a national feed of WeatherScan.

Cool....KCSM.....a PBS HD in the Bay Area, finally!

Not exactly - KCSM has not been PBS for a couple of years - much like KCET in Los Angeles and probably for the same financial reasons.

Time to update the SatGuys database for this channel...

But it will add HD for a few cool shows like "Rick Steves Europe" and other OPB and APB distributed shows.

6322(52) - KVEA [MPEG4 HD] added to Ciel-2 129W TP 06 Spotbeam 33 (Mkt:Los Angeles, CA-Corona, CA-TEL) (NA)

Actually I would rather have a Telemundo HD like that.... why ? Descontrol:

Actually it really still is, from wiki: This television station is one of the few independent, non-Public Broadcasting Service(PBS)-affiliated Public television stations in the United States. Until 2009, KCSM-TV was a PBS member station.

Bobby - read carefully - non-PBS-affiated station.

I did read it carefully....

"This television station is one of the few independent, non-Public Broadcasting Service(PBS)-affiliated Public television stations in the United States."

While you are technically correct, it is not affiliated with PBS, it is still a Public television station. Their programming has a good deal of what is shown on PBS stations.

Alaska and Hawaii cant see 72 (nor 61.5)

5576(187) - HMC [MPEG4 HD] added to EchoStar10 110W TP 12 Spotbeam 46/47 (Hallmark Movie Channel) (NA)

I know they are not active, but i think these are not available in the USVI

I wonder how long it takes to go from NA to available. I been watching the uplink reports more closely since KNPB (HD) was uplinked on Oct 5.

SatelliteGuys.US DishNetwork Uplink Activity Report - 10/5/2011 4:11pm - 215 changes

Uplink Comparison Range: 10/05/2011 04:01P - 10/05/2011 04:11P

Channel Additions:
5264(5) - KNPB [MPEG4 HD] added to Ciel-2 129W TP 02 Spotbeam 17 (Mkt:Reno, NV-Reno, NV-PBS) (NA)

it all depends really

Could be a day (as i the example of the Ft Wayne Fox in HD..uplinked Tuesday launched yesterday), it could be a couple weeks or hate to say it could be never (YES comes to mind)

With locals they usually are making sure the pic looks good before launching it to the subscribers

When I called KNPB a couple years back, they've been giving Dish the HD feed for a while. Not sure what the issue really is. You should see the amount of black on the SD version. You have to "zoom" to get the 4:3 image. Can't wait. Hopefully "soon" isn't never.

Yes, you are right, which is why I mentioned:

Those who are interested in the issue can read extensively about it at the kcet.org site.
