I do not see any posts on Tv Everywhere.

My Question is, do I need to upgrade to a 722 in order to get this service.

I do not record anything so DVR is not needed.

Reason I want it is to be able to pick up my locals in HD since I can not pick up the Easter Arc sat.

I have VIP 222k HD DUO and VIP 211k HD Solo

If so what would be my upgrade cost to switch out.

I tried the online chat and no help, person did not understand English

Thanks

A DIRT member will help you out. Much easier to work with. You are going to need a DVR receiver in order to utilize a Sling adapter which alows you to do TV everywhere.

You will need a 722/722k for the Sling Adapter to work.

If you dont want to upgrade your receiver, I recommend a stand alone Slingbox Pro HD unit. :)

Thanks for the fast replies, I'll wait for a DIRT member to qoute me a upgrade price.
The Slingbox Pro HD unit is $400 ouch!!

But honestly its worth it, it always works when you need it... wish I could say the same for the DISH Sling Adapter.

Take his advice!!! I LOVE mine. The picture is surprisingly good over the internet, more than surprisingly good using your own router when in the house.

So is the PQ on the Sling Adapter, when the planets align. IMHO Dish could largely fix this with a standalone SlingPlayer application. I wonder if the latest available SlingPlayer could be hacked to allow the Sling Adapter to work?

If this controls my tv, then I still wont be able to get my locals in HD... Correct?

So mabe I buy a $400 chainsaw and cut down the tree and aim a old dish 500 at the Eastern Arc, for my locals

thanks guys and gal

Correct. If you have no LOS to your HD locals in Eastern Arc, you will not get HD locals on your receiver, and therefore cannot Sling them anywhere else.

Are you in the Quincy DMA? That's the only Illinois market that's only on Eastern Arc. Perhaps "moving" would be the easiest solution. Or just use the OTA tuners in your 211k, or via the MT2 module in your 222k.

Ok I understand how its works now, so its not for me.

I do have locals thru over the air signal, but CBS is VHS signal and its 47 miles away and just comes in on good days only.

Looks like the tree will stay for a while longer.

Thanks everyone.

My city is Galesburg, IL and we get locals from the Quad Cities which is Moline, Il and Davenport Iowa

Now wait a minute... VHF travels farther than UHF. Do you have an outdoor antenna capable of VHF reception?

I have two home made antennas in the attic, All stations are on one except the CBS station which is on the second antenna.
Towers for all but CBS is only 26 miles and CBS is across the river 47 miles

Do you use something like a JoinTenna to combine the signals from two antennas? If not, you are probably suffering interference with signals coming in on both antennas. Just my wag. Two antennas are tough.

yes two antennas running thru a splitters backwards and then also OTA and SAT going thru a diplex (One Cable) then back to two cables to the tv

thanks TheKrell, Ill be going up in the attic after Xmas when I start bathroom remodelong. I will switch out the splitter and maby put on a booster too.

You're welcome.

What a hoot! I love that Freudian slip. At least remodeling around my house takes a long LONG time. Or does a Freudian slip have to be specifically about sex?
