We are considering switching to DISH and are curious about the HD for life offer. It says HD for life of the account. Does this mean for the 2 year commitment or for as long as we maintain an account with DISH even if it is beyond our initial 2 year contract? Also to get an HD receiver capable of supporting 2 TVs do we have to get one that has a DVR?

Thank you

Life of the account means so long as it is active, so even past the 2 years you would still get HDFL. We do have a non-DVR HD receiver that supports 2 TVs. If both of the TVs in your home need to be HD, you will need to get 2 separate receivers (the duo receivers only support 1 HDTV, the other is SD). Please let us know if you have any additional questions

What programming package do you have?
they used to have seperate HD and Platinum packages for $ 10 a piece and then (thanks to satellite guys) I found out I could cancel both of those packages and get a "combined" platinum and HD" for $10 a month..those who had that package were grandfathered into free HD for life

Dish does not have a receiver that will serve two HD tvs. All of their dual receivers are one HD and one SD tv. A VIP222k will get you two tvs (one HD, one SD) with no DVR. If you have two HD tvs, then I would suggest two VIP 211k receivers. You can add an external hard drive to them and make them into a DVR if you want to at a later date.

and if it did require more than the 2 year contract, would it really make any difference? I've been on autopay and paperless for 13 years without issue......
