I have a VIP211 and it won't let me record 2 programs back to back. Apparently there is a time conflict.
What I have tried was to make sure #1 ends 0 minutes late and #2 begins 0 minutes early but that doesn't seem to help.

Is there a way to resolve the conflict?

Thanks for any help.

With the 622 when the overall defaults for the BEGIN/END padding are 1 and 3 it is supposed to work 'smarter' to handle back to back timers. I would try setting your overall padding defaults to 1 & 3 and see if that helps. You may need to delete the timers and re-add.

211 only has 1 tuner so this wont help.

Do either of the programms you are trying to recoed reair later?
If one does you could always record the later one of the 2.

Unless the end time of the 1st program in the guide ends after the 2nd program can begin it will record back to back. On my 211k I do it all the time on both OTA & satellite.
You dont need to change the start/end to 0. Mine is set at 1/1 (start/end) and when I set up timers the 211k automatically knows to drop that if back to back

Example on Tuesday I had back to back OTA from 7-8 & 8-9 and sat from 8-10 and 10-10:30. OTA was same channel, sat was 2 different ones and all 4 programs recorded fine

I was able to setup 2 timers back to back on different channels. I also had the timer set to 1 min early and 3 minutes late. Are both shows 30 minutes in length?

Thanks but that is what I tried to do but these are on theses are on the same channel and it will ONLY let me add minutes the beginning and end. I did add 90 minutes (the max) to the end of the first but the second program is 2 hours long.

Dont change the start/end padding., Just leave it as is and both will record just fine. Like I say a few of us do this daily.
The only glitch sometimes is when the programs run long or the guide doesnt compensate for the :01/:31 end times some shows like to do

anytime you change the padding to higher than 3 minutes later you will have conflicts. The system figures out how to drop the 3 minute padding if 2 shows back to back

By any chance was the 1st program a sport? If so, the timer automatically adds an hour by default to cover overtime, etc.

I just looked at my timers coming up and next Tuesday I have back to back on same channel set properly
6:59-8
8-9:01
(it does keep the 1 minute buffer if nothing is after it)

Also have Pawn Stars to record at 9 & 9:30. Shows 8:59-9:30 and 9:30-10:00 then it flips to a different channel for 10:00-10:31

Its done this just fine for 4 months now

do a manual timer if they are on the same channel make it include both shows plus a little.

Unless there has been a software update to fix this, I had to use a manual timer.

My wife wants to record Grey's Anatomy and then Private Practice on Thursday night on TV2 while we watched something else.

The DVR always wanted to record Private Practice on TV1.

I set up a manual timer from 6:55-10:05 pm Thursday.
