It's wider and taller, I think the directv logo looks a little different different when lit.

That's a TiVo premiere XL, which I hope to be retiring with this 34.

Well, I downloaded the updated SW last night during the CE time frame, but regardless it seemed a little peppier after it had some time on. I've been running system tests here and there just to make sure all is well, and yesterday afternoon it was giving me an ehd error, saying it could not communicate with the ehd. During this, I could still record and playback fine, so Im not sure what the deal is and a quick reboot for the HR34 fixed the error. Checked this AM and it is fine as well, just a no phone line error.

Series Links and To Do list working as planned, and PQ is outstanding. Seems to run about 110 degrees.

Elway, Whats on the Top shelf ?

The HR34 looks identical to the HR24's, you'd think they would want something to distinguish them apart.

If you have one, you can tell a BIG difference. The HR34 is not far from being about twice the size of the HR24 series. Weighs a lot more too.

I like your TV, I have a 59'' D8000, I have been real happy with. I wonder if they will ever let RVU work on these? I see you are in Alabama too, isn't Theodore close to Mobile? I live about 70 miles to the NW of Birmingham off of I22.

ok, I just signed up for Directv. :) I went with the CHOICE ULTIMATE package. with the following receivers,
Your Equipment Selection
Home Media Center HD DVR
HD DVR Receiver
HD DVR Receiver
DIRECTV CINEMA™ Connection Kit Free
Satellite Dish Free

Thanks.
John

Man, I love it, such a great picture. They seem real slow on the RVU rollout.

Im just west of Mobile, still in Mobile County.

Im having a Directv Cinema issue. The 34 has been installed almost two days, and I have yet to be able to get on. The receiver is "online", but when I go and click Cinema Plus and all movies and shows, it just goes back to live tv. Nothing ever happens.

Mine is connected via a little modem looking device with 3 lights in the bedroom, which has one eth cable to my modem, and one coax to the wall. The tech refused to use the eth cable I have run to my stand.

it says connected on the details screen.

That little black box is your broadband deca. That's what connecting your system to the Internet. If all 3 lights are green then you're having an issue with the 34 I think. Sounds like its a known issue on here already so I'm sure directv is aware of it too

Yeah, it's all green. One thing I always like about the CE program is being able to help out with stuff, makes it fun.

The broadband is a normal item on an install but the 34 is still very new (like we all know) so there maybe something going on with the way it connects

welcome to satelliteguys!
you can either try to get one from directv or one from here > DIRECTV HR34 RVU Server for Whole Home HD-DVR (HR34) from Solid Signal
i've also seen a few on ebay but i would be careful with those for now.....

Hi, all. Had my install moved up today. It is a no go. There is a tree in the LOS. :( No HR34 for me. :(
They were looking every were to see if they could get around it but no such luck.
looks like I'm sticking with Dish network for now.

Later,

John

They told me that I need a RVU Samsung TV required to install a Home Media Center DVR. That is not true, correct? I signed up for two HD-DVR's, 2 HD Rcvrs and a SD Receiver instead.
I'm signed up for Premiere pack to guarantee 2011 pricing until 2013.
