My current setup= Slimline dish with single line LNB --> Single RG6 run to Power Inserter --> Single RG6 from power inserter to the #1 input on my HR22.

Today I ordered a new HD box. Installation options as I see it are:

1. Order a DTV approved power passing two way splitter and install the splitter BEFORE the Power Inserter. RG6 from dish to in port on splitter --> RG6 from power inverter to power pass out port --> Out port from PI to HR22 --> Non power pass out port from splitter to new HD box.

2. Split the line AFTER the power inserter using a splitter I already have: 2.3 GHz Splitter, 2-way

From what I have read, both of these options should work. Is that Accurate? Any Guidance would be helpful.

Thank You

Either of these should be what your using here :

DIRECTV SWS-4 Satellite 4-Way Wide Band (2 -2150 MHz) Splitter (SWS-4) from Solid Signal

http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.as...-Way-Wide-Band-(2--2150-MHz)-Splitter-(SWS-8)

Personally, I would go with the 8 or larger.

Thanks for the help guys. I went ahead and threw the Ideal splitter in there after the PI and everything is working fine. When the new box gets here, I think it will work fine as well. I might order the MRV model anyway, although I need to read up on exactly what MRV is and if I actually want or need it.

When setup correctly, MRV basically allows you to view and setup DVR recordings throughout your compatible DirecTV system hardware without each and every unit being a DVR

Keep0 a clo0se eye o0n your Ideal sp0littrer addition ...
IF you start having tro0uble, remove it.

IF its what I think it is, you may find in a few days that you can get signal fro0m channels o0n the 13v side and not the 18v side or vice versa, keep an eye on it.

X2 may work well for awhile but may give you trouble tomorrow, next week, or next month but if it works let it be until a problem I guess
