The Mentalist

Nice to see Erica Flynn return to the series, and then disappear. I get the feeling three things happened in this episode:

1. Red John helped Erica escape
2. The police escort was Red John himself
3. Patrick knew Red John would help Erica and is using her to find him

Of course, I could be way-off-my-rocker on this one! :)

What connection is there between Red John and Erica?

How would he know about her?

There's no connection that I know of...just a hunch since Red John appears to be keeping an eye on archrival Patrick Jane, and he likes "messing" with the women in Jane's life (and also with Jane): Agent Darcy (FBI), the psychologist (can't recall her name but perhaps she was a psychic) in season two, and someone else I believe. Regardless, I also feel Red John devised and executed Erica's escape simple because it sounds like something Red John would do. Anyway, just a gut feeling I have.

OK, couldn't remember from her previous appearance whether Red John was in that episode.

The now catatonic psychic was the first. Was hoping she would come back at some point.

Okay, I think I remember this huckster (Bret Stiles) but I can't be positive until I see him.

Extra Episode This Week

"Ruddy Cheeks": Jane and the team investigate when a terminally ill salesman is murdered; Cho must face his demons.

S~

I noticed the Friday episode...just thought it was a whacky timer and didn't check further. Ruddy Cheeks? Jeez. It sounds like something people who don't wipe property get...ruddy cheeks! :D

Anyway, it's nice to see a new episode or two on the tube this time of year - reruns galore.

Cheap Burgundy: I just finished watching and, while this episode was so-so, I thought it concluded
with a really interesting angle in that the FBI (Agent Darcy) suspects Jane of being associated with Red John. Of course, I think it's the opposide...Darcy is in cahoots with Red John or---the more likely scenario---one of her supervisors has planted this notion in her head. As I mentioned last season, I think Red John has several influential partners. We shall see.

29 March 2012: Pink Champagne (10:00 PM ET)

Two observations:

1. Somebody appears to drinking too much since we're on a alcohol theme...not that there's anything wrong with that. :)
2. A magician hiding something? Seriously...isn't thing something all magicians do?

26 April 2012: Ruby Slippers (10:00 PM ET)

"The investigation into the death of a man found outside a caberet that features female impersonators reveals a line of suspects who had all bullied the victim."

Talk about your damsel in distress! Or is is damsel in this dress? Or perhaps Dude looks like a Lady? The killer was Red John, in the Library, with a knife, while wearing Ruby Slippers.

3 May 2012: So Long, and Thanks for All the Red Snapper (10:00 PM ET)

"Lisbon reconnects with her ex-fiance while investigating the murder of a surfer; Cho reconsiders his decision to be in a relationship with Summer."

Why the fancy title? We haven't seen Red John in a long, long time. I get the feeling he makes an appearance this week. :)

10 May 2012: Red Rover (10:00 PM ET)

"A message from Red John causes Jane to lose focus on a current investigation, putting his career in jeopardy."

I'm surprised Red John has not been a larger part of this season's theme. Of course, I get the feeling things are going to drastically change in the final two weeks of the season. My question is, "Can they make a season finale that's one-half as good as last year?" If so, it's going to be very good. We shall see.
