MLB Network from 153 to 152

Watch MLBN at its new home on 152! As of Feb. 29, this will be its permanent channel location. DVR users remember to check your timers!

I still think that this could be possibly for an MLB alternate channel.

Nuvo TV from 159 to 167

Watch NUVO at its new home on channel 167. As of Feb. 29, this will be it permanent channel location. DVR users remember to check your timers!

I am not sure what 159 could become if anything. Fuse used to be 158. Could this be to make room for another sports channel?

Free Preview Channel from 102 to 103

Watch PREVW at its new home on channel 103! As of Feb. 29, this will be its permanent channel location. DVR users remember to check your timers!

Hmm...Anyone recording this to their DVR?

9412 UCTV

As of Feb. 29, UCTV will no longer be available on DISH Network or any other national satellite provider.

We regret that the University of California television channel is no longer available on any national satellite provider. Please visit www.uctv.tv for your favorite programs.

Sad....online, though...maybe room for something else later?

Maybe that's why they moved Nuvo to 167. Next week they'll probably move CBS SN to 159 and move NHL alternate to 158. But I'm just guessing at this point. Who knows what the Dish execs and engineers are thinking these days.

Why does the number matter?

It doesn't. It sure is convient for alternate sports network channels to be adjacent though.

Has Dish Network ever had a restructuring of the entire numbered channel lineup?

I was watching DISH Studio the other night on channel 101, and Scott Patrick said that they are launching a new channel called "Blockbuster Studio" on March 1st on channel 102.

No.

They have been making incremental channel changes over time, but Dish has never had a wholesale channel change. The closest Dish ever came to that was when the 3 Cinemax channels (which used to be in the 320 range) switched with the Showtime 4 showtime channels, Flix and Sundance (which used to be in the 310 range) back in the stone age.

FYI, UCTV lost a BOATLOAD of funding and has to cut back its channel to a web based channel.

Haven't you heard? The peoples' state of California is so broke trying to make this a workers' paradise that we can't even pay attention. But we can afford teach every child two languages.
