So today I read all about the new Hopper system and decided to contact the DIRT team after seeing everyone getting the system for the new sub price of $99. I would be replacing a 722 and 211k with DVR. I've been a customer on Auto-Pay and paperless billing since I started in 2007. Started with the all-HD package that was ended about a year ago and am now on the AT200 with HBO, Starz, Multi-Sport packages, and the protection plan.
The response I get from DIRT? $415.
Why would I upgrade for that price? Why wouldn't I just cancel and re-sign up under my wife's name and then enjoy all of the new customer benefits? Then I can also cancel my 3 disc out at a time Blockbuster plan that I've had since they started their mail program.
Can someone explain why DISH decides to treat existing customers like this?
