Sorry if it was asked and answered before. Does the Hopper upgrade require a new 24 months contract?

"I'm having 1 Hopper, no Joeys installed tomorrow."

Maybe. Please report back on how that goes.

Yes, you will.

Thanks! What an awesome forum!!!

A few more questions.

With three HDTV's in different parts of the house is the 1H/2J scenario correct?

What should be the approximate upgrade cost?

Will I need two additional remotes, one for each Joey?

You think DISH will waive the EHD fee so I can transfer DVR recordings?

Is self-install an option?

There is no EHD fee anymore, except for ViP211 series.

Self install is not an option. And reading install stories today, you don't want to do it alone.

$99 if you are a Plan A or a Plan B customer. $95 technician fee if you don't have the protection plan, $15 if you have it (you could always add it then remove it 4 months later).

Nope, each Joey comes with one 40.0 remote

There in no EHD fee anymore, only if you want to turn a ViP 211K into a DVR then you would pay a fee.

Nope, the strict rules concerning an H/J install require a technician.

I'm new to the Hopper thing - sounds like you got $0 monthly equipment fee w a 2 year re-up, for 3 TV's? That's better than the $17 + $7 x3 Joeys for 4 TV's the phone rep seems to be quoting. Sounds too good to be true - could you correct my misunderstanding?
