Peyton Manning

I think that John Elway wants to drive a stake through the heart of "Tebowmania" & I would not be surprised if Tebow is gone by the end of the day, before the contract for Peyton Manning is even printed. It would serve Elway right if he dumps Tebow & then all of a sudden talks break down with Manning.

Everything I've read says no deal for Tebow will be done until Manning is signed.

WELL...now we know WHO the favorite to win the AFC West. This is the 1st time I get to chime in on this, but my feeling is he chose Denver because that was probably the only team that was going to give true freedom of calling his own plays. There was no way he would get that freedom in SF and I doubt a new HC in Titanville would give a QB that much freedom in his 1st year....so his decision made sense. NOW Denver has to change their blocking scheme more toward a west coast offense.

This has now made my Raiders life much more difficult, even though Manning is only 3-2 with 12 TD and 9 INT with a QB rating of 85 in his lifetime...but that will mean nothing.

Damn...

Broncos are now a legitimate contender for a championship. I bet the colts never go .500 until after Peyton retires from the league. idiots.

Well, that's partially correct. Believe it or not, Denver was always the spot for him because ...

1. Good friends with Elway
2. Elway won Superbowls towards the end of his career at only 75% healthwise; translation, he knows what Manning will go through and in turn give him advice to win
3. John Fox s the perfect coach for Manning For a variety of reasons (e.g. experience, respect, etc.)
4. Denver, unlike 49ers or other teams, are underdogs and have the second hardest schedule next year (Giants are first). He wants to prove himself and re-build Denver, like he built Indy

Because............?

A. They already have one of if not the best QB in the league and are not taking him off the field for gimmick offense.

B. They don't emphasize the running game.

C. Already grooming Hoyer or Mallet to be the future.

D. Already have 3 capable tight ends.

E. Belichick wouldn't want the drama.

F. Can't rush the passer

Better yet tell us why he would.

He could be a multi-role player for the Patriots: H-Back in the backfield with Brady as QB,he'd be the ultimate Wildcat back for the Patriots,& I believe that Bill Belichick covets him just as much as McDaniels does.

Let's be serious,Chad Ochocinco(now Johnson?) made sense, but Tebow doesn't? The Patriots are amassing offensive weapons in Brandon Lloyd & Donte Stallworth,Tim Tebow,as a rusher, would be icing on the cake. Maybe the Patriots can trade Ochocinco/Johnson to the Broncos for Tebow(because Elway just wants Tebow GONE,period) which will give Manning another "offensive(?)" weapon. Maybe the Broncos should also go after Terrell Owens,Tiki Barber,& Albert Haynesworth.

G. Offensive line is used to a system with a conventional QB

My biggest thing: I like BOTH Mallet and Hoyer, and would rather either of them under center if <GULP> something happened to #12.

If it happens (and I don't know anyone who fully believes it they would use him as a running back/QB who would add a dimension to the offense. A running game gas not been their forte but I don't think it would be a bad thing to have. Either Hoyer or Malllet (probably Hoyer) would be traded.

Apparently the two teams have spoken so there is something there although I cant see Denver pulling the trigger on a deal like this (or anything else involving Tebow) til they sign Manning.
