Greetings from Jamacia where I am on board the Royal Carribean Oasis of the Seas!

While I am on vacation that does not stop me from posting news and rumors. :D

I am hearing that we will see new software start rolling out this Thursday at Midnight through 5AM for 5000 Hoppers... then based on your feedback here at SatelliteGuys they will then push it to all Hoppers and Joeys.

The new software will be S208 and the Joeys will get S260.

Don't know whats in the new software yet but when I find out I will post it.

Now back outside where the weather is amazing and the drinks by the pool taste so good!

Hopefully it's a good update.

The bug reports to DIRT members seem to be picking up steam so you'd think engineering is now aware of a large chunk of the major issues by now.

The update is supposed to fix some EHD issues among other things.

I was/am betting they will fix not being able to see some past recordings for some people as one of the first things. It's strange many can see all their past recordings subscribed or not, others can not.

Ty Scott and have a great trip and enjoy Jamaica..ive always enjoyed Jamica when ive been there :)

One hopper updating right now. Waiting on the joey's/other hoppers to pull the update.

Did it begin the update during a reboot? Skipped 1am reboot, reset it it twice, nothing yet.

When pressing menu menu, the date next to software, is that the date it received that update?

No, the box grabbed the update before the 1am reboot, just after midnight while in standby. Yes, that date should be the time/date it receives the update. Only one of my receivers got the update so far tonight - the others went through the normal 1a reset and have been in standby, but evidently are still downloading in the background or haven't gotten the flag yet.

Greetings from Mexico! (Its fun waking up each morning from a different country!) :)

I should have software release notes coming today. I got an email from one of my contacts at DISH saying that this is going to be a good software release. :)

Scott, do you ever get any rest? :)

You are supposed to be on vacation!

I don't have a Hopper, but have been reading and interested to see what changes come and see what this changes/fixes.

Me again...

Even when I am on vacation I still manage to get the SatelliteGuys members the latest scoop...

I am told that one of the biggest changes in the new software is that the user partition now doubled to 1TB excluding PrimetimeAnytime....

Enjoy! Greetings from Mexico!
