Well, yeah.................... They didn't say "Risk Free" to WHO! lol.

30 day trial, plus 2 years TRIAL of trying to get them to cancel you.............. = risk free to DISH!

Matt is checking on it

btw: the number gives me Dish...well the guy who says "HI...Welcome to Dish" like I remember the old 800-333-DISH number did

Oh boy, I can see the damage claims now for dishes mounted and holes drilled. No problem at install but if they don't like it and cancel.....

awwwwww man

I heard that they're doing a pilot program for only a few hundred customers where they can get a 30 day trial and cancel without penalty in that 30 days. I'm not sure of specifics, but I assume that after the 30 days the 2 year commitment is enforced.

Every once and a while they try this to win over people who are on the fence. The problem is that a majority of the people who they sign up because of the free trial end up cancelling on the 29th day.

Then the bigger issue is that after the trial is over, people still think there is a 30 day trial period and you end up getting into an argument with customers over it when they want to cancel before the first 30 days.

If they want to do a true trial, make it for only 7 days.

Agreement Statement:

Risk-Free Offer valid for activation and installation of new DISH service with the Digital Home Advantage plan between 9/13/12 and 9/30/12. If you cancel within 30 days of activation, the early cancellation fee will be waived. If you do not cancel within 30 days of activation, you must maintain qualifying service for the following 23 months. If service is terminated before end of the 23 months, a cancellation fee of $17.50 per month remaining will apply. Requires subscription to a qualifying programming package and installation of Hopper HD DVR system. Digital Home Advantage plan requires credit qualification. You are required to pay for all monthly programming charges and related fees, even if you cancel within the first 30 days. All equipment is leased and must be returned to DISH upon cancellation or unreturned equipment fees apply even if you cancel within the first 30 days.

I thought they had a trial using the service online? Would be pretty interesting if they could use the Joeys for a trial via broadband. Since they team up with Frontier which has no data caps that could be a very interesting thing to do.
