Hi looking for some advice on activating a 2nd Hopper and 2nd Joey, I purchased on Ebay. I'm curious exactly how do I go about do this? Note I already have the cabling done, with the dual node looking at the Eastern arc, 61.5, and 72.7.

Thanks in advance

DIRT or a call center agent should be able to add them as purchased receivers on your account. ($7 each) Just make sure they know they are owned by you. I'm sure you already have, but be sure it's not leased or have a balance on the card.

Just set up the receivers, update them, and once they're waiting on activation either contact DIRT or use online chat. Give them your receiver IDs and smart card numbers and you should be good to go.

I hope this isn't a dumb question, but why would you buy this stuff off of E Bay? I am really curious of what the advantages of doing this is as compared of just going thru Dish.

Hopper from Dish $449
Hopper from eBay or Amazon $279

Both brand new receivers in factory sealed carton.

Yep purchased the third one from Amazon here.

Wasn't as cheap as they are now, but that was 7 months ago. Was still a bit cheaper than purchasing from Dish. Factory sealed too.

I don't understand how any business can sell those for that price. This drives me crazy. Stupid online crap companies selling product near cost. It ruins the entire industry.

We're talking about Hopper 1.0 here. Found one at Amazon for $286 (that's including shipping) with ease.

My third one was $350 7 months ago.

A couple of weeks ago there was an eBay listing of a new Hopper with 2 Joeys for $350 with free shipping.

There were two sets available and they were gone fast.

Are they selling these as used? If they are selling a hopper and two joeys for that price they are selling it under cost. I'd be leary about some of those online sales. If it looks too good to be true be very careful.

I agree. Cost to me at the retail store is $299 for the Hopper and $99 for Joeys. I don't understand how they can do that unless those are 'hot'.

Brand new in sealed cartons.

I saw a couple of new 1 Hopper with 2 Joey deals on eBay over the holidays running from $350 to $399 with free shipping.
