you have to wait until the next day for AutoHop. Usually between 1AM and 3AM the next day it should start working for the previous days PTAT recordings.
One question.
I noticed that Autohop doesn't work on some random programming, even series shows. I knew it didn't on special shows like sports and such, but thought it worked on all the network series

It does. Are you waiting until after 3AM the next day. Keeping PTAT on all the time?
I have several recordings that show auto hop but the auto hop is not working when I play back. What am I doing wrong?
Select the event and choose start over or resume and next you should see the Auto Hop confirmation box and choose Yes to enable it. If you do all of that and it doesn't skip the commercials, I would reboot the Hopper. Also, make sure you aren't manually using ff or skip ahead and causing the auto hop to not fire.
Auto Hop is set for regular programing only, it isn't active for news programs, specials, some local produced programs or sports.
Autohop is also subject to availability but good luck getting what that actually means from anyone at dish. Around 70% of the time everything that is on at 10pm est does not get autohop.
My autohop does not take effect until around 4:15am btw. I am on eastern time, so I assume it waits until 1:15am on the west coast.

That's my point, some people will have it available on a certain show while others won't. It makes no sense and dish ain't talkin. All they will say is "it's subject to availability."

You say it happens 70% of the time I say it rarely happens and haven't seen it recently. Yes it subject to availability but I find 70% in any time slot hard to fathom.
I find it unacceptable, especially since subject to availability tells us nothing. I could understand if a certain program did not get it for everyone, but for a program to get it for some people and not others does not make sense to me.
Example, the most recent episodes of blue bloods, scandal, and elementary. All missing autohop and all aired at 10pm est. Is everyone else missing autohop for these events?

I get Autohop on maybe 50% of the shows we watch.
I guess Dish Network just uses this feature as as a selling point, not for actual use.
