Arkansas
Ok guys here we go. I'm new to this, but this appears to be the go to place. I live in a small town in Northeast Arkansas. We are halfway between Jonesboro, AR and Memphis, TN. When we moved here from the Little Rock, AR area we had Dish come hook our stuff up. When they did, I got my Little Rock locals for a while that day then it changed to Memphis locals. I don't want Memphis locals. I changed my physical address with Dish to one that I know gets Little Rock locals. I waited a couple of days and then got on a online chat with them and told them I self installed and needed my locals updated. They said ok and they would send the signal. I have done that 3 times but its not changing anything. Am I just stupid? I don't get it. Why isn't it working? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

Little Rock is on the 77 satellite. Do you have that satellite showing on your receiver?

He said he was getting the Little Rock channels briefly before it switched over to Memphis. He is either getting 77 or is on the Western arc and received the SD channels on 110. We need to know exactly which arc he was installed on.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, it does show satellite 77 with a good signal strength. When I run a check switch test it says sat 77 is on port 1, sat 72 on port 2, and sat 61.5 on port 3. All say ok.

Ok, how do I find out which arc I was installed on?

77,72,61.5 is eastern arc.

Thank you. So I assume that I now need a western arc setup??? What does that entail? Could I just get the dish from the house i have for sale that I moved from and put it in place of the one on my house now? Thanks guys!!

Unless something changed in the ongoing migration that's being done, if you have Little Rock locals on your account and you are in the spotbeam, then with signal on 77 you should pick up your HD locals. I would confirm through a dish agent what locals you have on your account right now.

That didn't automatically mean he was still getting it.... :)

No the opposite. Little Rock HD is only on 77 I believe. You have that. Just want to make sure when you say you moved to an address that you know gets the Little Rock locals - you mean the Dish website indicates that? My next suggestion is to contact a DIRT member and have them look into it.

I have no idea what the Dish website indicates. The address for my physical, is my mother's house. They have Direct, and Little Rock locals. My brother lives next door and has Dish with Little Rock locals.

I have since checked. The Dish website does indicate Little Rock locals at the address for my physical.

DISH isn't able to bend or break rules regarding locals. They are going to need to verify the physical location the receivers are at and based off of that address you will receive the locals your account qualifies for. Nielsen draws those lines and if you fall in the Memphis DMA then that's all they will be able to add to the account.

Yea but you can always move. Dumb laws are ment to be broken.

The question is this poster still getting Memphis locals or no locals at all?

If still getting Memphis locals then dish didn't do the move when he called it in.

So I spent 30 minutes on Dish chat with someone this morning. They said my address showed somewhere in Texas. Not sure what that's all about. They supposedly changed it at that time, and after checking I am still getting locals out of Memphis!!!!! Is there any way around this??

Did you reboot your reciever after the chat and before posting? Your reciever needs to reload program guide to update.

just keep chatting. Ask them to re-hit the reciever again. Tell them it didn't take the first two times. I had to chat 4 times before my move made it's way to my reciever this week. My service address was changed during the first chat but it didn't hit the reciever. Second chat he said he hit the reciever but it never took. Third chat my original locals went red almost immediately (not that i could see them since i was out of my original spotbeam) so i knew it would work. New locals showed up about an hour later. Just keep chatting.

Hits cycle every X amount of minutes for a couple of hours, there isn't any need to keep getting hits sent. Once the changes on the account are made, a reboot is all that should need to be done. If that doesn't do it then a Checkswitch should. If nothing is changing then that makes me think something on the account is incorrect. Well in your case correct, since you are getting the locals you should be based off of where you live. It sounds like the address may not have been changed.

That didn't work for me on my move. My account shoed the correct service address but it wasn't goingt o my reciever. Asking them to rehit didn't work either (with a checkswitch). Told them all this and eventually the thrid rep made it work.
