I wish dish would add more HD channels to their line up I don't understand why I can't get Disney and BEIng channel and a bunch others does anyone knows what's going on? I install Uverse and I get upset when I see how many more HD channels they have than dish

Disney, Disney XD and ABC Family HD channels are embroiled in a retransmission dispute with ABC/Disney dealing with paying twice for the same channels. Don't expect those channels until they come back up for renegotiation.

BEin HD is on channel 408... I am looking at the HD feed as I type. The actual HD feed is on channel 9611 and mapped down to 408.

My opinion on this....

Is TVLand in HD on Uverse, according to their site it appears it might be with a Premium upgrade?

Edit - it"s available if you will pay $121 a month just for the package..... Or pay $11 a month to add it to the $89 package or the $75 package.

I would say that seems to back what I posted about A La Carte in other posts. You can expect something like $10 per channel, plus DVR fees, etc..

I had Uverse. Have Dish now. They both have bout the same HD channels, Dish has HD channels Uverse dont have...Uverse has some Dish dont have. When I had Uverse..which we had for three years......like every three weeks, wed have four rooms go frame by frame for two or three days each. At&t would come out fix it...work good again for several weeks...then do it all over again. We have 5tvs total. The main tv would always work ok...it was all the other tvs that communicated with the main unit that would have issues....sucked. The last straw with At&t was when..."hoodlums" stole there copper wire from there local center...and it took att a week to replace it. Meant no tv/dsl for a week.
Since havin Dish...its a flawless setup...no downtime in anyrooms. Can record more hd shows at once...9 recordings in hd at once...and each room can watch dvrd shows different in each room...while all is recording...or watch shows that are being recorded then and there. Two hoppers...one is doing ptat...no sense in both doing ptat. At&T uverse lets u record two hd shows at once...the other four rooms...one can watch a recording or non hd live stream...but all the other rooms are scrwed...which was always a big big downfall...so my guess is....
The person sayin Uverse is better...is a recent new customer to dish, from uverse..and dont fully understand the technology difference. To me its like comparing a razr flip phone (uverse) from 2004 to the razr Hd 2013 (Dish)...in differences

Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using SatelliteGuys

If the OP installs for Uverse, don't he get a employee discount. If so, why is he with Dish? Or if he likes Uverse better, Why is he with Dish?

I don't care to believe anything unless I actually see the facts on this. Usually people just complain that one provider doesn't have any HD channels because the one channel they want is not in HD. The argument that there are not many HD channels is not true, only that there are not enough of their favorite HD channels.

More importantly, where is Playboy HD? :D

It's 2013 and neither dish nor directv has it.

Dish does have one HD channel, but $35 a month for it is ridiculous.

Directv add 5 new HD Channels tommorow morning cmon Dish how about adding some more new HD Channels such as TvlandHD,Fox Movie Channel HD,OxygenHD,OvationHd,NuvoHD

That's what their marketing says, so it must be true.
That wasn't an answer. I thought that Dish had the most non-RSN HD channels. Or is it only when including RSN's and part-time RSN's that puts Dish on top. Or is that incorrect or outdated?
Tvland hd same tcm hd =old shows in pillar box no good deal
Are you kidding me?! TCM did an unbelievable job cleaning up old films for the HD channel.
